Was Florida’s 30 something game win streak against UK a record?

I wonder if SC's 21 game losing streak will ever be broken. Even lowly vanderbilt will usually have a bottom feeder or 1AA school to get a "gauranteed" win against. To lose 21 consecutive games is almost unthinkable to do.

I mean we were a shite team in 1998 and then in Holtz's first year there were so many injuries I think some DL were having to start on the OL.

We also didn't have a "rent a win" that year. Our OOC games that year were @NC State, a 9-win ECU team, and Clemson. To your point, it's not like we had a shot at like a Furman like every schedule has now.

eta: Even Vandy and UK were 5-6 and 6-6 that year.

eta #2: Apparently Vandy was the only team with a losing record we faced that year.

I’ll go with 1938 Bama’s defensive stats as the least likely to be broken.

Most teams can't find their stats for that year. UT outscored opponents 293-13 that year (including 13-0 over Bama) while Bama outscored their opponents 149-40. Heck...George Cafego had 120 yards against Bama in that game. I would be interested to see how UT's stats in '38 and '39 stacked up against Alabama's.

Can anyone verify that Bama's defensive stats haven't already been beaten since then?

Between 2010 and 2012 the Gamecocks set two NCAA records for postseason success: the most consecutive NCAA tournament wins (22) and the most consecutive wins in the College World Series (12)

They may not be unbreakable because records are made to be broken but, those two streaks are going to be really tough to break.

SoCal, who dominated college baseball with their roster antics in the 60s and 70s, was never able to pull it off.

The odds of that being broken in the foreseeable future have got to be astronomical given the parity in today's game.

2010: Auburn QB Cam Newton ran for 1,473 yards

I could see this one getting broken.

Cam's will be broken although had Chizik didnt run him against 3 teams. Had they not played in safe with Cam in those games then he probably rushes for 2,000 yards and then you are looking at an unbreakable record.

Not SEC, No one will EVER break UCLA’s 38 game win streak in basketball, think about that one.

I can give you two from the A&M side.

2012: Johnny Manziel is still the only player to throw for 20+ TD and run for 20+ TD while throwing for 3,000+ yards and rushing for 1,000+ yards...in the same season.

2016: Texas A&M was down 67-55 with 32 seconds left against Northern Iowa and somehow tied it at 72 with 1.7 seconds left, eventually winning in 2 OT.

The SEC won 7 national titles in a row in college football (2006-2012)

the closest to that streak

The SEC won 3 national titles in a row (78-80)

You would have to break it down to per game in today's environment. They only played 9 games that year. Nobody's would probably break it anyway, but playing 12 games completely keeps it out of reach.

The SEC has won 12 of the last 23, 11 of the last 20, and 10 of the last 16 CFB National Championships, with 4 different teams.

Saw that game, it was Homecoming. UF had the Reaves to Alvarez deal. Undefeated coming in, left Auburn with a beat arse!

Yeah and the rules have changed to favor offenses more so now than then. At bout 78 yards per game, it is good. But you're correct, the reason it won't be broken is because the game has changed more than anything else. Same with Tennessee shut out record.
