USC is in a great position for 2014 QB's. We have a guy coming back who's started and won against ranked teams. RS Sr, Dylan Thompson.

The same guy that couldn't hit the broad side of barn through 3 quarters and accounted for 0 against Missouri?

Mason will also be helped tremendously by a supporting cast of Gurley, Marshall, Mitchell, Bennett, JSW, Conley, Rome, Rumph, Davis, Terry, Michel, Chubb, Hicks, Douglas, Green ...

That's why he's gonna make Tee Martin look like a bum

Rooks a rook, the guy has never taken a meaningful snap in college. You can claim he's a 5th year senior, ya that's great, but he has the game experience of a freshmen.

I agree in that he has no game experience (I mean he does but it was either mop up duty which was rare and far between or when Murray got knocked out vs AU and I think he was merely there to hand the ball off) but being in a system as long as him, practicing as long as him, and traveling as long as he has has got to amount to something

I agree that he will likely maintain the starting job for all the reason's you mentioned, but the fact is he just isn't that great of a passer.

I don't buy this. His passing was good in the games that we needed him to pass it. He has advanced pretty good through the year considering he did not even enroll at Auburn until August.

While Jeremy Johnson is a much better passer, he is not as comfortable running the ball. Gus is a run first guy. Always has been and that is his goal. Nick just fits better overall but Jeremy will also be great in that offense.

Unless Jeremy just comes on strong running the ball, I don't see Nick Marshall sitting out his senior season at Auburn after how well he did this year.

But that is next year

We Bama fans don't have a clue..Some think it is going to be the transfer from FSU but I don't know where that talk is coming from. He is one snap away from being the starter at FSU

If I had a guess it would be the guy coming out of Spring who fits the game manager phrase since we would be breaking in a new QB. Cooper Bateman of Del Rio would be my guess with Sims being the change of pace guy

Coker might be one step away from being the starter at FSU, but that's a big fricking step. Winston is a RS Freshman and a Heisman front runner. There is no way Coker takes over that job and keeps it at this point. 'nole fans would revolt.

He will be at Alabama next year, and having been in Fisher's system (a Saban protege) and gone through a big programs training regimen, I believe he will be able to step in and take the reins quickly.

I don't know what effect that will have on team chemistry, but I trust the staff's ability to get a handle on it.

I'm willing to ban myself if Coker isn't on Bama's squad next year.

SCAR is stacked with Dylan Thompson returning and Nosovitch and Mitch behind him. Thompson has more experience than most so we feel good about him but he'll be pushed by the other two ... a RSSo and RSFr.

lulz ... that is proof that you mizzerites were not paying attention.

You may want to watch the replay dumbass. Thompson had 222 yds passing against y'all and that was with four dropped passes ... all inside of three quarters.

Yeah. He was so effective Spurrier pulled him.

Our DLine looks forward on feasting on him again in 2014.

Of course, we both know he has NO chance of nailing down the Crock's starting job...

Please explain how you are "set", because your backup qb that played quarters 1-3 vs Mizzou looked like a pile of vomit.

We have a RS Soph behind him who was a dual threat QB in PA, Parade All American, who broke a bunch of Terrell Pryor's HS records. Brendan Nosovitch.

Then we have the best QB to come out of NC since Chris Leak, who had the record for most 600 yard passing games in NC HS history, TD passes in a game, and TD's in a single season. Connor Mitch

I expect Connor Mitch to be the starter by the end of the season if not the day 1 starter. Dylan Thompson will get his shot, but I don't expect him to win the job.

State's got two years of Mocha Tebow.

Well, one year of Mocha Tebow putting together one of the best seasons in MSU history in leading us to a 7-5 record and a berth in the Liberty Bowl, followed by one year of underperforming and hearing chants of the backup;s name.

Such is the life at Mississippi State. Where QBs go to die.

It's nice to see there's at least one rational thinker in South Carolina.

We're ignorant because most of us think our backup QB this year who has already gone out and won some games will be our starter next year?
If someone else beats him out for the job, it isn't because Thompson is bad, just that the other guy is playing really well in practice and getting some good game reps.
He had 222 yards against Mizzou in 3 quarters. Not his best game, but nothing was going right for our offense.
If you're going off that one game to say we're ignorant for thinking he'll start for us next year, then you are the ignorant one.

DGB only had 1 catch for 6 yards against us. Perhaps he won't start for y'all next year.

Hey, I really, REALLY hope he's your quarterback next year. That's good news for the Zoo.
