In Mc Elroy's defense he had cracked ribs and could hardly throw. Texas was lucky.
With a healthy McElroy Texas has to play pass defense because of Julio Jones and they probably give up 50 because they never stop Alabama's offense at all Colt Mc Coy or not.

I can fathom Bama still beats Texas with McCoy healthy for sure. But saying you drop 50 on Texas when you never even dropped 40 on a single power 5 team in 2009 is just classic Bama delusion lmao

Agreed.
Tejas had a good pass defense in 2009.
A healthy McElroy gives Bama a more balanced attack, but the real story of that game was McCoy going out early. Even with McCoy, I'm not sure if Tejas puts up 37 points. That was a tremendous Alabama defense.

I do not doubt Ewers will be very good this year and give teams a lot of trouble.
He has shown glimpses of fantastic play.
