I really don't care. I mean, I'd like to be better in basketball. The others? I would probably watch Georgia if they made it to the Super regional in baseball. I'd probably watch if they got to the elite 8 in women's basketball. But that's about it. Like all of the other sports, I'd just read the newspaper/internet clippings to see how they did. Hope you all have a good season. One of the 11 or so schools I have no ill feelings toward. I've never understood why teams in the other division hate a team in the opposite that have no real history in the present or past. But good on you sir. Good on you.

Pretty sure Mizzou was 3-5 with Bowl, MBBT, and SBT

Some of you have so convinced yourself that Alabama sucks in everything but football

Some people have called the Tide athletic department a “flaming disaster” and an “embarrassment” - so either they are wrong or OP is wrong.

Oh wait, that was OP…

You left off programs with coaches that gambled against their team and condoned players aiding murders.

All SOG did was list the sports that are most viewed nationally. That's not cherry picking. Actually it's proving the SEC is pretty dominant across the board. Everyone represented pretty well IMO.

Not a lot of talk about wins and losses in that post about off field issues, Willy.

Weird!

No I didn't. They're pretty clearly included.

Well, friend, I'd love to say that I actually DID care about other sports at UGA besides football, but it would just be a dang lie. I mean, some folks like steak and not chicken. Some like Fords and not Chevys. Some like blondes and not brunettes. I like football and not other sports. I couldn't tell you the name of a single player on any other team of any kind of sport at UGA. UGA football is on top right now and that's all that really matters to me. I would rather watch metal rust on an old plow out by the barn than any other sport. That's just the way it is.
I really don't understand why rival fans try to make out like it's some really horrible thing for football fans to not care about basketball and baseball. Maybe you can explain it to me?

That's cool. To each his own.

These posters really think they are Georgia and I’m talking directly to them. Really odd bunch

Women's softball?

Might as well throw in tennis and golf.

I assume its inclusion is because it's kind of like men's baseball, but not nearly as popular.

The final game of the WCWS had higher ratings than the final game of the mens.

1.7 million for softball, 1.63 for baseball, 9.9 million for women's basketball. Pretty crazy.

But I do not subscribe to the number of viewers being the determination of whether a sport "matters'. All three do in my book.

He didnt say "matters" he said softball wasnt nearly as popular as baseball and the viewership clearly tells a different story.

One of these 5 ain’t like the others….

You had 4 sports in which getting into postseason play allows the team an opportunity to win a championship. Only UGA football was in a postseason tournament with an opportunity to win a championship.

This makes no sense.

How so? Getting into a bowl game doesn’t give a football team an opportunity to play for a championship if they keep winning. All the other postseason accolades he mentioned do. Seems pretty simple to me.

Well, that just means I held college baseball in too high esteem.

The women's final four more than quintupled both softball and baseball.

I honestly thought college baseball had grown to the point it had pulled even with women's basketball. Was terribly wrong. Apologies to the ladies.....of basketball.

1. Football 17 million plus

2. Men's basketball 14.7 million and the least watched on record

3. Women's basketball 9.9 million

4. Women's softball 1.7 million
5 Men's baseball 1.63 million.

Making the post season isn't such a big deal in one sport, but across the board is completely different.

Tennessee has won the SEC All-Sports Trophy for its 2nd consecutive year. I believe Florida was #2 this year.
