Just based off what we saw Saturday, I would think Auburn would have to be rated higher than us.

I would swap Auburn and Georgia and your ratings look very good. Hopefully we can find a suitable QB and get our offensive problems ironed out. If we don't we could lose 3-4 games this year. (Auburn, Florida, Alabama and MState.) All four looked more polished and better than we did.

LSU could have won that game and were in it until that last score with 3 mins left. You don't rank LSU in the bottom half of the SEC when a few bounces of the ball would have them at #2 behind Bama.

1. Bama
2. State
3. Florida
4. Auburn
5. LSU
6. UGA
7. Tenn
8. Kentcky
9. Ole Miss
10. South Carolina
11. Arky
12. Tamu
13. Mizzou
14. Vandy

A few observations.

HUGE day for State...happy for them. Lots of reasons to be the most exciting season for them in a long, long time.

UF has major issues on D...so many weapons on O though, so well-coached.

Bama looks like Bama, but it was Mizzou...so...we'll see

Arky looked improved and salty on D...but whatever happened in the off-season doesn't change the fact that from a talent standpoint, they are FAR behind the entire upper 3/4th of the SEC.

UGA looks like a mess. How in the world with that much talent they could look so poorly coached...I dunno...they'll win 8 games just on pure talent but they'll have to get their act together quick to do better than that.

Auburn has major issues at the line of scrimmage, both sides of the ball but is in great shape at skill positions, LB, secondary and special teams. Not enough horses though on OL/DL (particularly OL) to really contend this year.

Tennessee is playing quality football and is playing inspired. They could put together a nice season

UGA won by 27.. they looked bad the first half, well the first 29 mins of the first half.. but then absolutely rolled... we sat the starters at the 5min mark of the 4th quarter.

Down 2 at half and up 24 in 26 mins of play.. if we had started that fast the optics would be different.. still ended up rolling.

Any rankings thread with VOLS in the top half of every post is good by me.

Is Bennett going to be the starter for UGA moving forward?

From what I saw yesterday, it is:
1. Bama
2. Miss St
3. Florida
4. Aub
5. GA
6. Mizz
7. VOLS
8. LSU
9. SCar
10. Ole Miss
11. A&M
12. KY
13. Vandy
14. Ark

I think it’s almost certain he will be next Saturday.

I can tell people didn't watch Mizzou/Alabama yesterday. Sure we lost by 19 and was done by more earlier in the game, but with all the new additions on offense they showed toughness and grit and had a ton of good drives negated by a single negative play here and there.

We hit hard on defense and have some playmakers in the skill positions.

The most important thing is we are well coached. 3 penalties for 20 yards with a coach in his first game with a shite ton of new starters against Bama. Ill take it.

It was 13-10 with 6 minutes left in the third quarter. Georgia wore down a team with no depth and no offense quit trying to polish a turd

I ranked Mizz at 6th and above my VOLS...

You guys played well, and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about our matchup this weekend. Where do you think Mizzou should be ranked (albeit with just a one game sample)?

Tennessee’s secondary got picked apart, but we were missing a starting S and Nickel (and a D lineman) had a Tr Fr at S and our best CB playing a different position.

People seemed to miss that once UGA made the quarterback change they outscored Arkansas 32-3. State played well yesterday but had 4 turnovers and gave up 5 sacks. MSST is 4th in the power rankings to me this week and I think that’s justified.

Georgia will win games this year in the second half... Arkansas game being an example. Their defense is very, very good, so for teams without much depth on defense, they’re going to get gassed by mid-3rd... which allows any subpar offense to move the ball at will.

I was talking more so about their offense. Their offense was night and day from the first half to the second half. We all knew their defense was going to be good, and if this QB can keep moving the ball like he did UGA has a shot at the CFP this year.

The big thing is, if you had been playing someone like Alabama, Florida or MSU then that first half doesn’t end with down 2 but more likely 20 or 30.

UGA did roar ahead but that is just as much on Arkansas having zero depth.

If Stetson started the game we’d have been up by 20 at half...

it has just as much to do with starting a redshirt frosh that did not show up in a game situation like he did in practice, a guy that is coming back from a serious injury & seemed nervous about getting hit to boot

UGA will not drop out of the top 10 this week, in fact, my bet is that we stay No. 4 and that Florida jumps us to land at No. 3

people ALWAYS read too much into the 1st game, especially the 1st half of the 1st game

having said that, the ONLY highly ranked SEC team that I saw that should be nervous is aTm, I mean, outside of LSU, who actually lost. The Tigahs did not look as bad as the Aggies though, State just looked better

Arkansas also deserves a lot of credit, they played on fire and with purpose, just did not have the horses

If I am a Hawg fan, I am pleased with the direction my team seems to be headed in; when they get some better players, they will be a dangerous team
