quote:AUMB did that one year as well. The problem was when the IB was played in Auburn the playing of the Bama fight song did not go over well at all and that experiment stopped quickly.
I do like the fact that UT's band stops in front of the opposing team's fans and plays their fight song.
I love watching the UT band run Circle Drill, and the 12 Days of Christmas at halftime of the Kentucky game is funny (if you can understand what they are saying).
I think some of my favorite band memories have been some of the "one off" halftimes I have seen. Auburn did a 150th birthday celebration show that included a guy with an electric guitar covering Van Halen's Eruption before the band joined in on You Really Got Me. Dr. Good's daughter also did a couple of shows a few years ago as a featured fiddler in an Irish themed show.
I remember the first Auburn/Tenn SECCG in 1997, the UT band did a Scottish show with members of the Atlanta Pipe Band, playing Amazing Grace and Scotland the Brave, while wearing orange and white tartans.

I wouldn't say Clemson's band is terrible. I saw them perform at my high school last year. They're ok for their s
They mic up as well.

Mic'd up. I don't believe that's true. You didn't watch video.

Clemson only cares about being loud and I've been embarrassed for my friends in their band at times. No concern for tonality or fitting in with the sound, everyone is told to blare

I've seen them all but two (A&M and Mizzu)
All of them are very good, but there are two that stand out.
Homer pick - There is no question that UT's is the best on the field.
Honest pick - LSU's band is the best in the stands. Their music is great and the entire stadium reacts to the music.

I love the battle hymn solo but the rest of our pregame is meh.
Honestly our songs annoy me other than glory and krypton(4th quarter)

Both CU and UF mic up. Been to games for both in which the mic went in and out while they were playing. It was pretty obvious.

I'm obviously biased, but... how is this a question?
Agreed, it's LSU by a mile.

I like the defensive cheer when the flutes play like 100 notes before the rest of the band kicks in.
Was right across from the UGA band when they brought the full one back in '04. First SC-UGA game, when they started that I was blown away.

Tennessee uses a mic for their band as well. Terrible.

I remember before the 03' SEC Championship at the convention center when each team's band comes out & plays before going to the dome, UGA's band came out first & got the home crowd pumped up. As they were leaving the area, you could hear-but not see-the LSU drumline playing their marching cadence, the uga fans were looking around like "WTF is going on?", then the entire Golden Band From Tigerland comes marching out to the drumline cadence & goes right into right formation (the uga band had kinda just non-chalantly walked out). Just like on the field, the band goes silent & the drum major does his look both ways thing & all of a sudden, the convention center just BLEW UP, it was so loud in that place. Then when those infamous 4 notes were blown & each corner was saluted, the fans went INSANE! I had numerous uga fans say that was the most spectacular band performance they had ever seen.

If you've ever been to LSU, especially for a night game, there really is no question as to who the best Pregame is
I got goosebumps just thinking about it. My first time in TS was as a young kid and when I heard that ba ba ba ba, it was over for me. I was hooked for life

Carolina Tide,
What do you play?
What do you play?

I never pay close attention to any of the bands playing. They all sound the same to me

I'm sure you aren't the only one.
I will say though that LSU fans (if you didn't know already) are a little possessive of our school. We EXPECT the Golden Band to be the best in the land.
We all know how strange we are
