I remember when MDB was one of the better bands in the SEC around 2003 or so. I believe they got a director in the last 8 years or so and it has really gone down hill.

Yes it was pretty disappointing the past few games that I've attended. I'm no music or band expert, but it didn't deliver.

Saw you on here in Burke one day, then figured it out it was you when you said you played trombone earlier

I've actually probably seen you guys before. I used to hang in Burke all the time (2-3 years ago)

They do the same bullshite block formation nazi youth camp drill they've been doing since fig boots were first seen on that god forsaken concrete campus.

It just came to me. Night time. Soaked in booze. Young. Chicks. Invincibility that comes with youth. Chicks everywhere. Back when the girls still worshipped the guys. When they acted like they loved getting soaked in booze too. Fear of something always in the back of the mind - not sure what. Tittys.

LSU guys - is that a good description of the student section. Another word is heaven.

Just when I thought you couldn't suck anymore, you go and totally redeem yourself.

That's just mean. Hurt my feelings, even. You're correct, though, they just march up and down the field in a big block formation and never do anything noteworthy. And they're definitely Nazis - it's obvious. I really wish they'd get with the program and wear the same band outfits as every other damn school in the country. That would be outstanding.

Oh, and

I'd rank them:

LSU
Bama
Tenn
Auburn
UGa
USC

Florida
Arky

State
UK
Mizzou- have only seen their traveling pep band
Vandy

There's only one band that's "better" than the Auburn band in the SEC and that's LSU.

And that's only because they have the Golden Girls.

I love the battle hymn solo but the rest of our pregame is meh.

Honestly our songs annoy me other than glory and krypton(4th quarter)

UGA has the best chubby majorette flaming baton twirlers.

I ain't lyin'.

They're effin' AWESOME.

I love everything about SEC football, including the bands.

Modern bands are de facto cheerleaders for the gigantic crowds at SEC games. Traditional cheering squads simply can't command the attention of so many fans at one time.

With that thinking, the three SEC bands that have the most effect on games by coordinating fan response, IMO, are:

1. Auburn
2. Texas A&M
3. LSU

For all you Dawgs out there...it's not a college band but this drum corps originates in Georgia...hence the name Spirit of Atlanta. This gives me chills every time I hear it.

Amazing!!

There is only one band that can do the four way cross, the Fightin Texas Aggie Band! Everybody stays at their seats at halftime to watch them!

Is that like crossing swords or something?

UGA= beautiful campus and arguably the hottest girls in SEC. But that is one dumpster fire of an entrance.

Our pregame used to include the best song played by any band in the conference (from Dixie with love), but now that we don't play that our pregame might be the worst in the conference. Our band has never been anything special.

I've never really gotten the whole Aggie band deal.

It's novel if you've never seen them; but it gets pretty boring after you've seen them a few times.

I'd vote LSU, with Bama and Tenn trailing by a bit

Aggie Band is more unique than the generic band offerings of most other schools.
