LSU's the best, without question.
ETA: Tennessee has the best overall band, and best halftime show.

Yeah ours was shite a couple of years about but we finally got a new band director, who I believe was at LSU or graduated from there as well. Since then there has been remarkable improvement in terms of marching and sound. Its supposed to be bigger this year once and is about the size of LSU's now.

. Florida's band also is disappointing
Mic'd up.

I'm obviously biased, but... how is this a question?

If you've ever been to LSU, especially for a night game, there really is no question as to who the best Pregame is

Only conference that can challenge the SEC at halftime is the Big 10. There are other great marching bands around the country but the SEC and BIG are the best top to bottom.
Also, USC's director is from LSU too.

If Alabama would stop trying to do fancy shite, and just practice marching in a straight line, they'd be a lot better. They need to go to a military-like structure instead of the interpretative-performance dancing they do now. See Tennessee and Texas A&M for what I'm talking about

Yeah I marched in SC's band for the 2007, 2008, and 2009 seasons. We weren't terrible, but we weren't great either. I did enjoy the roadtrips though, great way to see the rest of the conference.
They've improved tremendously now that the new director took over in 2011 (she had actually been in the School of Music since around 2007). The new pregame is leaps and bounds better than the old pregame when I marched.
One of my favorite pregame moments from another school that I witnessed was at Ole Miss in 2008 when they played Dixie. Absolutely awesome. It is a shame they can't play it anymore.

You mean play the same songs and make the same pretty formations for the next 20 years?

Exactly. Perfection, not performance

Have you ever watched your band before? They can't make straight lines or march together

Don't want you to take this personally but I've never seen a fan base get so upset at its band's performances. SC fans were raising hell. Knew a dancer on the team and she was sick of the director's decision to play the same halftime show 3 games in a row.

Useless. The Alabama video isn't available on mobile. Wtf kind of ghetto shite is that?
Down rated appropriately

The "A" going from one end of the field to the other while them playing the swing march gives me wood

Pregame for night game at LSU without a doubt best show in college football!

We still weren't terrible. We were just average. Vanderbilt's band is terrible. Clemson's band is terrible. We were just average.

Love Tennessee's pregame but the band itself has gone down hill and has put on some down right embarrassing halftime shows.

LSU's band played Amazing Grace a few years ago for halftime and I got chills. I encourage anyone to look it up

Outside of Tennessee's Circle Drill, they're pretty average. I'm not saying they're a bad band or anything, but they let their other shows suffer since they've focusing on perfecting the same show for 20 years. Sorry if we want to mix it up once in a while.
And of course I've watched the band before. To say we can't make a straight line is ridiculous. I'm not saying it's gonna be perfect every time, we do spend enough time and effort to make it work.
Looks pretty straight to me.

I wouldn't say Clemson's band is terrible. I saw them perform at my high school last year. They're ok for their size.
