Can we give Missouri away and clean up that map?

The baseball tournament should always be in Birmingham.

No, and any of the people with an RV are welcome to meet me at Sonic over this. You have great baseball venues throughout the SEC footprint:

Triple A

Memphis
Nashville
Sugarland
OKC
Jacksonville
Gwinnett
Round Rock

Double A has too many to list…but there’s a ton between the Southern League and Texas League.

If comparing ATL to anything in MS, sure I could see your point.

Conversely, get the frick out of MS for a bit...

Hey dumbass. I've been all over the US, almost every state and I've been to 6 different countries around the world on 3 different continents, so you can kindly kiss my Mississippi arse.

How about the baseball tourney in Florida? Somewhere with 2-3 spring training fields close to each other?

8 teams at the Phillies Stadium in Tampa

8 teams at the Blue Jays Stadium in Tampa

and then the Final 4 at Steinbrenner Field (Yankees) in Tampa

All close to each other..

I'm pro Nashville personally.

But if we're going to rotate, it should rotate through all the home locations. No Atlanta. No Nawlins. No Dallas.

I mean, they just successfully hosted the super bowl. The place is basically built for events.

For example, there are more Ole Miss alumni in Atlanta that anywhere else outside Mississippi. It’s an easy ticket sell.

If they're basing the location of the SECCG based on where the highest concentration of Ole Miss grads are, I question how bright those folks are.

Nashville, Atlanta, and New Orleans should rotate the SEC basketball tournament and SECCG in football. These are the three biggest cities in the south

Someone might want to go back to geography class. New Orleans is not even in the top 10 largest cities in the south. If you talk about metropolitan areas it falls even further down the list.

Baseball in Florida does sound good. The Tampa area has even more than those stadiums listed below. Lakeland Detroit Tiger's spring Stadium is 30 minutes from the Yankees stadium in Tampa.

It is pretty funny how the argument for keeping the SECCG in Atlanta is always attributed to things like superior infrastructure and airport access, yet when New Orleans hosts events like the Final 4 and Super Bowl everyone raves how it's the best host city for a big event. In the past people would play the geography card which doesn't apply anymore. I'm in the pro rotate camp.

eta. because nothing gets the Bulldog fans all hot and bothered like this topic

When does this happen???? New Orleans hosted a CFP game just a few weeks ago that had to be postponed by a day because of a terrorist attack which was, in part, facilitated by a lack of maintenance on the vehicle barricades that were installed to prevent exactly the sort of incident that took place. There is a reason New Orleans is considered the best managed city in the Caribbean.....

They all need to be rotated to give other SEC Fans a chance to go and experience the atmosphere. Loved when Nola had the basketball tournament.

One of the biggest reasons the SECCG is in Atlanta is to keep the ACCCG out of Atlanta. If Sankey moves the game it will never be in Atlanta again, and he doesn’t want that.

Another reason is that Atlanta has the most SEC school alumni outside of the state where the school is located. For example, there are more Ole Miss alumni in Atlanta that anywhere else outside Mississippi. It’s an easy ticket sell.

Its also a little over an hour from SEC Headquarters which means SEC officials can sleep in their beds, eat breakfast with the family, hop in the car and commute to the game in Atlanta. Its also the least expensive hotel room in an enclosed NFL stadium city with a competent airport and ground transportation system. Nashville ain't close and New Orleans for sure ain't.

Basketball has done best when in Nashville and should stay there. Easiest city to get to for the majority of schools that care about basketball

Those new spring training stadiums that have been built all over Florida are incredibly nice and they are only used for baseball about 8 times a season. They are all over the state....and there is a lot to do in Florida for everyone.
