michigian state lost to grand valley state back in 08 and made it to the S16 or E8, cant remember. lost to caliparis memphis team that made the finals.
baylor lost to tarleton state (bet you dont know where theyre from) that same year in an exhibition yet made the second round.
it happens, but this is really disappointing for an auburn team that hasnt shown many signs of improvement under pearl

Didn't help that our shooting was woefully bad. 3-20 from 3 and only 44% from the field. Won't beat anybody shooting like that. Really bad loss. Looks like we're going to live by the 3 and die by the 3. Shame.

This Barry is a D2 power and the kind of team we will struggle with forever under BP. It is bad aesthetically for a program that needs some sort of positive momentum right now, BUT...I wouldn't read into this too much. But alas, this is the Rant

An exhibition. Member last year Bama lost that exhibition to some small Canadian school and everybody had a good laugh at their expense and then they still had a decent season and now they're preseason top 25

(1) That small Canadian school is a Canadian powerhouse that routinely beats P5 NCAA schools
(2) That game was a couple months ago during the fall international period, not last year before the season
(3) This game for Auburn really doesn't matter except that it provides fodder for people and continues concerns about Pearl's teams ability to play perimeter defense. In 3 weeks nobody will remember it (unless of course the next 3 weeks include more performances like this).

That was actually this past summer. Carleton and Barry are of similar caliber. And Bama and Auburn will be fine.
