1. California
2. Texas
3. Florida
4. New York
5. Pennsylvania
6. Illinois
7. Ohio
8 Georgia
9 North Carolina
10 Michigan
11 New Jersey
12 Virginia
13 Washington
14 Arizona
15 Tennessee

The SEC has a presence in 4 of these states. The B1G has a presence in 7. We need to add UNC and UVA for the longterm viability of the conference. Would also help to lock down the state of Florida by adding Miami and FSU.

The SEC doesn’t NEED to add anyone. Those states being the most populated is irrelevant because we still dominate the TV viewership numbers.

Nobody is going to corner the New York, New Jersey or Massachusetts markets. You can somewhat make that argument for California too. Those states simply don’t give a shite. They’re “pro sports” states. Pennsylvania would be too if it wasn’t for Penn State

The death of the Big 10 is eventually going to be the different time zones and travel issues. You’re going to have schools leave them within the next 10 years because of it.

Love him or hate him, Sankey got the rule of making sure every SEC state bordering another right.

Wow, I always suspected that you were not very smart. This proves it. You are incredibly shortsighted.

No the Big 10 model for expansion is short sited. They added brands without thinking about the logistics that come along with it.

I guarantee if you told Big 10 teams 10 years ago what travel and schedules would look like today, you would have more than a handful vote against it or look at leaving the conference

Population is meaningless in this discussion. Brands matter more.

If population mattered USC would be dominating ratings. We learned this the last cycle in 2012

Big man, you need heavily populated states if you want to survive over the next 50 years. A conference with Miss State, Ole Miss, and Arkansas isn’t going to get it done. It’s about the longterm viability and population growth. Alabama is not going to be a major power 50 years from now just like Nebraska has fallen off. Use your head.

It’s widely established that sec has a large following, you need to look at acc and big 12 teams that put up sec like numbers. It’s not rocket science. You get those teams and pair them with sec or big ten flagships instead of say ucf cincy Boston college and wake. Boom ratings bonanza. Clem fsu Miami ND Utah unc. That’s your real candidates in expansion

The sec doesn't need to expand to gain more TV viewers. The Big already did that adding west coast audience. The SEC still dominates tv ratings bc up north and out west NFL is king. We need a better commissioner to get us a better contract going forward. TBH I think our contract is very good and maybe the Big is very bad for the networks.

Dude, give it up. Your feud with Arkansas because Walmart banned you from all its stores after you got caught wagging it public to fat chicks is getting stale. Just fly your freak flag at a Costco and move on.

None of you understand how population shifts, alumni, alumni resources, total viewership works. This is why you all are plebs working in some cubicle selling insurance. The athletic directors and presidents understand what needs to be done.

The real question is...will any of the schools mentioned add more money for the next SEC TV contract...?

Miami, FSU, Clemson, and North Carolina are bringing in the most ratings in the ACC. Not sure how Virginia is part of the conversation

Also, the Protect Sports Act, which has the expansion cap, is being held up by these 4 schools...

It's a mess, but I think somehow these four schools either find themselves in the SEC or Big 10, or even go Independent

People watch the top teams. I wouldn't personalize the ratings with each team. It's not like most of the nation loves Texas and Ohio State.
