Y’all are insane to even take this bowl record stuff seriously. I just looked and Tennessee has like 11 starters missing while Illinois has 2. The SEC isn’t going to do well in bowl games because they will have the most opt outs due to talent and NFL careers

Which conference has/had the most teams in the playoffs?

Anyone who uses bowl games to asses conference strength doesn't know football.

But this is the Rant so it isn't surprising

You think the results would be the same in the regular season?

Bowl games are meaningless exhibitions now.

We need to get back to the glory days when MSU ran the conference.

Except for playoff games the bowls are a joke.

Between Clemson and Penn St they have 45 players on the 2 opt out or "injuried".

I believe the only reason the coaches even care is for the bonus money in the contract.

Mizzery was never part of the dominance in any way shape, or form.

Just thought this should be emphasized. Carry on

SEC has never really been dominant except for 1 or 2 teams per year.
SEC = overrated

There’s never more than 1-2 dominant teams in a given year.

Half of the SEC schools have won a national championship in football in past 30 years.
Which conference wants to ante up to that?

How does it feel to know your conference teams have their entire squad playing these bowl games giving 100% against teams that are half opt outs

Hey Rrrrrger, Don’t talk that way about your HC. I’m sure he is doing the best he can. Cheer up. It’s almost the off season and we all know what that means. The UT off season champs will once again claim that 2026 IS the year. It really really is

The non playoff bowls mean nothing, the only real gauge of conference strength are regular season and playoff matchups. Come to me with that number at the end of the season.

Dude no one cares if it is not playoffs. Bowl games are meaningless and SEC schools typically have more "opt outs" because we have the most NFL prospects. Tenn has 6 starters opt out for todays game - IL has everyone playing. Playoff record is all we should be looking at measuring conferences.

Now that the SEC isn't dominating I am hearing this excuse a lot.

Illinois lost their best DB and Big 10 leading interceptions from last year Xavier Scott due to injury earlier this season and had opt outs for their best D player edge rusher Jacas, All Big Ten O Tackle Davis and leading tackler Bailey.

Cry me a river Tennessee.

because the SEC has more teams in the playoffs, I would think the rest are playing teams who finished higher in other conferences.

This is a valid point
