This place would melt. This whole thread is knocking on Elko, and making it seem like Lea hasn’t been there 3 years.

What’s crazy is that Elko and Lea worked together. Lea was Elko’s position coach until he went to A&M and Lea went to Vandy. Both were Brian Kelly guys.

I don't see anyone "knocking" Elko as much as acknowledging doing well at A&M isn't as big of a challenge as doing well at Vanderbilt.

Unless you're suggesting Elko inherited a less talented roster than Vandy and that A&M is as limited in NIL as Vandy?

One last point: Can anyone tell me the last time the SEC COY lost to a Sun Belt team in the season they win COY? I understand everyone is enamored with the Bama win, but COY recipients don't lose to GaSt (who btw is much better prepared to stop that Vandy offense than any SEC team is because they see it multiple times every year)

I'd say Elko at this point, but there are still several games which could flip the script to Lea.

If Vandy eeks out two more wins then I can see Lea in the conversation.

He’s 100% in the convo already.

Lea taking Vandy from 2 wins to 7 is crazy good.

Elko could be taking a team from 7 to 10+ after a major transfer exodus. If A&M makes the SECCG and/or the playoffs, I think he gets the nod.

If he doesn’t win, and Elko gets it. All it will be is posts on how he doesn’t deserve it now. So just more crap to come.

Jesus. Y’all need to pick a lane.

Or LSU rfans can pick one. We were told:

1. Most wins in ND history!
2. More talent at LSU than ND!
3. Will win title within 3 years!

So you tell us. Is he elite, or have y'all been lying to us?
Time for LSU fans to pick a lane.

Lea has Vandy winning which is impressive but who have they really beaten? A declining bama and a pathetic UK

So you’re playing the victim card early. Good to know.

FWIW there’s been multiple years in SEC history where there are Co-COYs. In 2008 there were as many as 3. My guess is they both get it if they finish well.

Shows how little you know what Elko did this past year to both the Roster and culture. Thats fine. Not worried you are not keeping up.

*cough bullshite cough*

You damn well know Elko was handed the keys to a Porsche. You're just bullshitting yourself to make the season mean more. You have a good coach that got a very good team.

The other guy got crap and turned them into a decent team. One is a helluva more difficult than the other.

aggie has averaged 8 wins a season up till last year, Vandy, not so much.

Lea is just now getting nil support that aggie has had for awhile and he’s making it count. He’s had a much more difficult hill to climb than elko but I’m sure he’ll just get an atta boy.

Eh, 1 and 2 are just factual statements. And I don't think BK is "elite."

He's just a good football coach.

I swear you consistently have the worst takes on this board. It's Lea by a mile.

You're such a moronic troll.

Ags were picked 9th pre season and are sitting undefeated and in first place. If that's too hard for your pea brain to comprehend you should probably not respond in the first place. There is absolutely an argument for both elko and lea.

Super cool that they're in first, truly that's amazing with the 4th most talented roster in college football. A&M had a preseason O/U win total of 8.5, so they're 2 wins away from exceeding expectations.

Meanwhile Vandy was picked to finish last in the SEC. They had an O/U win total of 2.5, they are now 2.5 games over that win total and more than likely will make a bowl.

Like I said, you consistently have the worst takes on this board.

Has nothing to do with Clark Lea other than him getting them on his staff.

So basically one of the primary jobs of a head coach, assembling a staff to maximize the talent on your roster

I think that the Vanderbilt guy should be the Coach of the Year.
