Wasn't Florida's 1984 SEC title vacated?

You are correct. Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Tulane all shared the SEC championship in 1939. There was one other instance where three teams in the SEC claimed a conference championship in the same year. That was in 1989 when Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee all shared a piece of the pie.

Florida's championship was won on the field. It may have been erased from some stupid record book but the games happened, they were on TV, people saw them play.

For a long time, schedules were imbalanced as far as number of conference games.
When Georgia Tech left the SEC in 1964, AU and UGA kept playing them, but did not add an extra conference game each year.
So some years had multiple undefeated teams or same record teams who did not play each other.
At least now, every team has the opportunity to compete for their division. Scheduling may be uneven, but at least if you go 7-1 and beat a team head to head, they can’t go 8-1 and win SEC(see 1972)

Georgia Tech's biggest mistake was leaving the SEC in 1963. They tried to re-enter the SEC in the 70's, but was rebuffed; later, they join the ACC. They became like the ACC = mediocre. They've never been the same since.
Florida State's mistake was rebuffing the SEC...afraid they'd have much more difficulty winning the SEC and nattys, but in due time, they slid down to be just like the ACC = mediocre.
Anyone notice that Florida NEVER WON ONE TITLE until 1984...and that title was VACATED by the SEC for cheating...was nearly given the DEATH PENALTY in 1990 for cheating again.
Florida NEVER WON 10 GAMES IN A SEASON IN THEIR HISTORY until 1991. Selah.

Just gotta move the SEC office out of Birmingham...and stop the REC...make sure the checks to the refs stop clearing.
Did I miss any excuses?

You DO realize that any SEC team could schedule extra SEC games if they wanted to, right?
