That’s how it was last year.
Missouri lost to Wake in Gasparilla
Arky barely beat Kansas in Liberty
OM lost to Texas tech in Texas bowl
USCe lost to ND in Gator bowl
UK lost to Iowa in music city
Then went undefeated in NY6, playoffs, and January bowls winning the Orange, Sugar, CFP semifinal and championship, Citrus and Reliaquest bowls
This is largely because the shite bowls will put a 6-7 win SEC team against a 8-9 win team from the ACC, B12 or B1G conference. The NY6, January bowls and playoffs are teams more evenly matched
