We will see a week from now, Arkansas needs to win the next two and they are back on track. 13 games left and 8-5 should do the trick.

Yea, so many games left it's all just projecting at this point.

And throw into the mix if the SEC has a great showing this weekend and it changes alot as well. I think the SEC will get 6 at the end of the day but there is certainly a path to 7.

I think Bama, Miss St and Arkansas will be gutting it out for two spots at the end.

Hopefully Javian Davis isn't injured seriously. If he is out an already very thin Bama teams gets dangerously low on bodies, particularly at the 4/5. It would basically just be down to Alex Reese (who I think is playing through injury himself and is not exactly a force down low on defense or offense for that matter) and Galin Smith who is just a biggish body who can give you fouls to use on defense and some junk stuff on offense.

This team may have to go even smaller and faster than they already have and try to force teams to use a smaller lineup.

That's probably the best assessment - those three teams for two spots.

Stick a fork in us. It would take a miracle at this point.

I think 7 is impossible at this point. Even 6 is a stretch.

You are right that a lot depends on this weekend. If the SEC wins the Challenge, I think it might justify six teams getting in. But that might be a tall order.

Loss to #36 Florida

If it comes down to the fact that we blew a massive lead in this game as to why we eventually end up on the outside looking in, then at least I hope that becomes the catalyst for a great run next year.

That said, I'm hoping we make a strong enough run to overcome it.

#19 Auburn in Auburn
#23 LSU at home
#23 LSU in Baton Rouge
#35 Arkansas at home

If Bama were to lose all four of those, but win out otherwise, they'd finish with a regular season record of 20-11... which seems like a good enough record. However, they'd likely be 1-7 against teams in the Field of 68 and they'd still have four losses to teams outside the field. I'm not sure that resume would pass the test.

We'd have some opportunities in the SEC Tournament to score some wins over some field of 68 teams, presuming we win our second round game.

I wouldn't bet on 7 or even think its close to likely, I just think its still a possibility. You would see a lot of SEC teams in the 7-12 seed range for that to happen.

Definitely more specifically volfan-esque. Some people run optimistic; some run pessimistic. It takes all types!

Lawd I'm glad I love Oats so much because I'd have some serious #ForbesEnvy when he gets hired next year if Oats wasn't doing such a good job.
You think this is bad?

Whenever we get rid of White we're going to hire Grant... and he's going to be the second coming of Billy D.

It could be possible if Auburn, Kentucky, and LSU bleed games the rest of the way but barely stay afloat and Alabama and State finish very strong

Very unlikely, though

May not be a big stretch. Bracket Matrix has Bama part of first 4 out. Would be amazing if the SEC could get more teams in than the ACC. Currently 5 in for both, with UVA in the next 4 out(with UT).
