And Alabama is in the discussion now

I thought we were 51 yesterday maybe I’m remembering wrong. I’d be surprised if we dropped after beating Arkansas

Looks like Bama's new coach is making a difference.

Hopefully this shitty BasketVOLS team is put out of their misery soon.
Drawing Mizzou, Vandy, OM, A&M, UGA, SC all in the first 7 league games is pretty funny but when the calendar flips to February Prick will face the music that comes with taking a few years off on the recruiting trail.

If MSU can split their next 4, the 9 games after that really opens up to make a run and seal a tourney bid.

This is a meteoric rise for A&M. We were in the high 200s a few weeks back.

Remarkable climb for this Texas A&M team. Just a completely different squad from a month ago.

Bama has a very high NET.... so they have that working for them.
The problem their resume has is very few wins against other likely Tournament teams and several losses to teams outside the projected field:
GAMES PLAYED AGAINST LIKELY TOURNAMENT TEAMS:
Win over #19 Auburn
Loss to #25 Kentucky
Loss to #29 Penn State
Loss to #36 Florida
So they are currently 1-3 against teams projected to make the Tournament.
LOSSES TO TEAMS OUTSIDE THE PROJECTED FIELD:
Loss to #52 Rhode Island
Loss to #72 Iowa State
Loss to #113 North Carolina
Loss to #176 Pennsylvania
While a couple of those are not terrible, they are still losses to teams deemed not good enough to make the Tournament.
To make the Tournament, Bama is going to have to come up with some more big wins.... against opponents that are clearly in the Field of 64..... and there aren't many chances left.
My gut tells me Bama needs to get to 19 regular season wins to make the Tournament. That means they have to finish 8-5 which seems doable. The problem is they can't just beat Vandy, A&M, Ole Miss, S. Carolina, Kansas St., Mizzou, Georgia, and Tennessee to get there..... I think they've got to win at least two of these games:
#19 Auburn in Auburn
#23 LSU at home
#23 LSU in Baton Rouge
#35 Arkansas at home
If Bama were to lose all four of those, but win out otherwise, they'd finish with a regular season record of 20-11... which seems like a good enough record. However, they'd likely be 1-7 against teams in the Field of 68 and they'd still have four losses to teams outside the field. I'm not sure that resume would pass the test.
I think winning at least one and maybe two of those four huge games left are critical.

Why do you hate Rick so much? I remember you bashing the last couple of teams as well even when most of the country enjoyed them.

If we get 20 wins we are easily in regardless of who we beat.

Don't hate him but the current roster is absolutely embarrassing for year 5.
Last year's team was very good (would be #3 at KenPom in this year's college basketball) but could not guard the 3 point line for whatever reason and it cost them big time in March. For a team with 5 NBA players to fail to win any hardware despite having one of the most efficient offenses in modern SEC history is pretty embarrassing.
