We got dropped 5 spots last week for getting swept at Vandy (despite beating a then-ranked Tech team midweek).

D1 has had a hard-on for Clemson this year for whatever reason.

I think this team has proven that they can adjust and still compete with the best. We’re dealing with a handful of injuries outside of the guys we’ve lost for the season, yet we keep producing. Max is due back by end of the regular season. Mendoza should be back to 100% by post-season. Jonah Williams is a weapon that should be back in the lineup this week. ARod should be good to switch it again soon. Max W. will find a Sunday starter.

Seems pretty obvious D1 and Kendall are basing each week's rankings on projected National Seeds.

SEC will get a max of 5 national seeds, with 4 being more likely, so D1 and Kendall are trying to fill the remaining spots with ACC teams like Clemson, FSU and UNC along with Independents like Oregon State and UC Irvine.

With the SEC having 8 teams with 12 conference wins, it's going to be a wild finish for the chance at 4-5 national seeds.

In the absence of BigBro’s detailed post, here’s a rankings average of SEC Teams likely to host using D1, BA, and Coaches Poll:

1. Texas (1st in RPI, ELO): 1st in D1, BA, Coaches

2. LSU (9th in RPI, 2nd in ELO): 2nd in D1, BA, Coaches

7. UGA (2nd in RPI, 4th in ELO): 9th in D1, 4th in BA, 7th in Coaches

8. Tennessee (10th in RPI, 8th in ELO): 12th in D1, 7th in BA, 6th in Coaches

9. Auburn (4th in RPI, 14th in ELO): 10th in D1, 5th in BA, 11th in Coaches

9. Arkansas (5th in RPI, 6th in ELO): 11th in D1, 10 in BA, 5th in Coaches

15. Vandy (3rd in RPI, 13th in ELO): 15th in D1, 14th in BA, 15th in Coaches

Honestly, I haven't watched enough of the other teams to give a good educated answer. I just know we moved up a bunch of spots after getting swept a few weekends ago. Just seems like a big jump.

Yeah Clem's Son dropping 1 spot while they also drop Tennessee 6 spots for losing 2 of 3 at LSU makes no sense.

If all that comes to fruition (other than losing our Friday starter) we will be dangerous ad I think the floor is definitely Omaha.

All good my dude I appreciate you doing the service for tRant every week so delays or even an off week is all good.

Naw, ya'll got us this weekend... with our Friday starter out and possibly missing most productive pieces to the lineup (which is above average at best anyway)... I got razorbacks winning 2-1

#4 RPI; #1 SOS

Series wins over Kentucky, Vandy, Bama, State, and LSU… and the LSU series was a sweep.

2-0 against Georgia Tech
Head to head wins over Oregon State, Troy, and Baylor.

Looks like a Top 10 resume to me.

Is anyone else disappointed about the new SEC tournament format? Single elimination.

Huge 10 game stretch for Alabama. Probably need to go 6-4 or 7-3 to host.

Currently

35-10 (12-9) (3-4 in SEC series)
#14 RPI
#12 ELO
10-7 vs Q1 RPI
25-3 vs Q2-4 RPI

Remaining schedule

@ #15 Vanderbilt
@ #15 Vanderbilt
@ #15 Vanderbilt
@ #22 Troy
#7 Georgia
#7 Georgia
#7 Georgia
@ Florida
@ Florida
@ Florida

If we get to 40 overall wins and are 17-13/18-12 in the SEC with a Top 10 RPI I'm not sure how we don't get inside the Top 16, but in reality there are a limited number of SEC host spots and we're battling with the last 2-3 (Ole Miss, Vandy, Oklahoma) in that group right now.

Nolan ELO and Perfect Game seem about right for Auburn (#14 & #9). Baseball America likes the SOS and RPI but #5 is too high. We only have one SEC starter that can give us a consistent five+ innings, with the rest being a crapshoot from weekend to weekend. Seems like the bats are heating up at the right time though.

Exactly. LSU is a solid #2.
