Holy shite yes it was...looked glorious!! The contrast between Baum exploding with the HR then the camera turning back to Eugene showed how sharp the contrast is in baseball fandom between the South and everyone else

I replayed that homerun on my TV like 10 times after it happened, it was loud as shite.

Bama and Auburn barely have anybody that attends their games.

State
Arky
Ole Miss
LSU

SC
A&M

Everybody else

I'm an LSU fan and I'd readily admit we're a little behind the top 3. Our admin just hasn't committed to improvements at the Box and doesn't seem to give a shite about the students.

Florida is the biggest head-scratcher in the SEC relative to the overall success of their program, certainly at the bottom in terms of atmosphere.

I think we are still in wait and see mode with the new stadium. Opened with minimum capacity and then had to deal with bad weather for the regionals. My guess is during a normal season it is going to be much better than at the old place, just not sure by how much.

Gimme call when you have condos at your stadium.

Condos at Baum would seem dumb. There are plenty of better spots in town for condos where they already exist, with year round attractions, culture, restaurants, performance venues, bars and other amenities.

At Baum you'd be on the edge of town, 3/4 mile (and downhill) from most of campus.

Arkansas is by far the best
MSU a distant 2nd b/c of the newness of DN
OM - players are douchey, fans are too, still fun though
LSU - great for LSU fans, not so much 4 guests. Box smells

The rest are all about the same. Except Mizzou, there are better city league parks.

A good argument could be made for all of these being the best.

Arky
MissSt
OleMiss
LSU
Of course that's a great group!! That they have 6 CWS Championships between them is solid proof they are the best 4.

The LSU fan base has become a lot more passive over the years plus you have some long time season ticket holders that refuse to give up their tickets yet hardly ever use them

The old Box was legendary and was like what you saw at Baum
and Tenn

All of those questions come into play. Oklahoma baseball is a snooze fest in person. It’s always unwatchable. I’d really enjoy taking in some home SEC games such as LSU, Arkansas, Florida, Miss State, Ole Miss, The Cockaboose, to name a few. Fan participation is a huge driving force. It seems the home crowds can get just as rowdy and intense as football.

I have attended LSU series at Arkie, State (Old and new stadia), OMIss, Auburn, Bama, UGA, Florida, SCarolina, A&M, and Vandy since 2006. Comparing big series to big series, LSU is the best atmosphere for baseball, in my Tiger eyes. State is a close runner up with Arkie-OMIss tied for third. Those top 4 are clearly heads above the rest. Carolina is honorable mention.

It is utterly hilarious that y’all think the ball 5 chant is something your school created, as if that wasn’t a thing at so many high schools throughout the country.

But A&M is basically high school again given the Friday night pep rallies / cheer practice and other creepy stuff, so I guess the shoe fits

UK is not awful. We have brand new facilities and a supportive fan base. We’re lacking in the history department but that should change because of our admins’ commitment to the non-basketball sports.

Just Ball 10?

That's Child's Play.

Try Ball 17 like what happened in a Regional 10 years ago.

You don't get it. It's not just chanting Ball 5.

It's increasing the volume on every subsequent ball followed by a derisive standing ovation when the pitcher finally throws a strike.

Only at Blue Bell do Umpires actually change their strike zone to end the chant.

If only that could help you beat the Big 12 in the postseason when the money is on the line.

Just like everything else at A&M, just another meaningless thing y’all will call “tradition”.
