That’s how the women’s team became so dominant
The women became dominant because of Title 9 and the rest of the world not giving a shite until recently. That's not the landscape for the men.
You may get some new soccer fans in SEC country though. I guess that would be a positive.
re: USMNT’s World Cup $12.8M payout will be shared with women’s team

The men would play for free. It's not how they make their living, so of course they aren't going to make a big stink about it and get shite on in the media. That doesn't make it right. It set a horrible precedent for future lawsuits like this.
Honestly, I'd be ok with the end result had it been done differently. Sort of the same concept as how Football money pays for everything else in the NCAA. But it wasn't done right. They cherry picked numbers from a cycle where the men missed the world cup.
On top of all that it's tiresome to hear about how it's somehow fair because the women win more. Female athletes in this country have had the jump on the rest of the world since 1972 ( a good thing btw). However, every time Carli Lloyd stepped on that field she was on the team with superior talent because of all those advantages. I really don't need to hear them criticizing the men who are taking on the exact opposite challenge.

He didn't play well but the shitting on Pulisic is getting a a little excessive, especially from do-nothing windbags like Dan fricking Wetzel.

I know he wanted 300, but 266 might as well be 500 to the guys behind him. Kinda crazy to think about.
JV - 266
Max - 222
Cole - 156 and already 35 years old. (JV won 78 games from this point)
It's not a guarantee we even see another 200 game winner if Cole doesn't get there. Really puts into perspective how much of a workhorse this guy was.

I forget how fun drafting tracks were when you actually had room to move around and make runs.

I saw a photo a while back of the inside of one of the cabins afterwards. All the trunks covered in stickers and the bright, colorful comforters on the bunk beds. Hit me hard. If you got babies at home, hold them tight every chance you get.

Yeah, they did. Prioritizing the 500 over the points maybe? Does Felix bring more money? It's all kind of odd.

Wow. I'll be curious to hear what went into this. Just a big payday? Or opportunities outside of Indycar?
Oh, I'm also just seeing the news on Felix going to McLaren. Zach ain't fricking around.

I'll take my best shot at flipping every part of this statement...
“SOMEBODY HAD TO SAY IT. SO I’m saying it. Your three TOP PLAYERS ARE BLACK DUDES. REALLY? This ain’t basketball. This ain’t dominoes. Hell, it ain’t even track & field. And we got a whole bunch of honkies ON TEAM USA. WHAT Y’ALL THINK THIS IS? IT’S HOCKEY.”
-Pat McAfee
Should it be ok? Sure. But I'm thinking the reaction would be a tad bit different.

Not disagreeing with you, but I really think most of it is still just how good the Toyota is right now. It's masked a little this week by SVG winning, and Hamlin, Reddick, Wallace having trouble, but look how Gibbs and Bell came through the field. Wasn't just Briscoe with that pace.
Seems no matter the track it's the same story. You get a Larson or Blaney make a show of it early in the day but in stage 3 that Toyota starts eating them up.

I don’t mind road courses, but I prefer ones that suit stock cars. Fast and flowing. I don’t mind one Chicago/Coranado per year. It has its place, but I wish they’d give an existing road course a chance before they’d go back to the Roval or put a 2nd street course on the schedule.

Congrats to Heim but man, this Toyota domination is getting old. Thought Larson had something for them at one point but I think that Toyota is just kinder on the tires.

Declining a visit is so odd. Seems like any rational person would enjoy the experience for what it is regardless of your politics. Or, if you're really that ate up with politics, the sitting president is literally inviting you to his house and you can talk to him.
Either way you're better off going. Declining makes no sense.
