Sad day for mediocre teams - they will never win enough to get in the playoff. Everything will be balanced to favor the blue blood teams. CFB is over …

Interested to see if LSU-Bama is kept every year

Before adding Texas and Oklahoma I would've guessed LSU ended up with these three:

Ole Miss
Arkansas
Texas A&M

Now, who knows?

For what it's worth, it may be a new match-up but that game is annually the most ridiculous brand of football you've ever seen. It doesn't seem to matter if both teams are good, bad, or somewhere in the middle, something bizarre seems to happen in that game. It feels like either team will find a way to choke away the lead at the last second about once every 2 years or so. It's a complete shite show in the best and worst possible ways.

One thing I thought of as a result of this is Texas will not play a TBD team in SEC play until 2028. We don’t know who this team is but it would be one of the 7 they would’ve added next year where they essentially change their opponents with OU. If Texas gets the common 3 everybody would expect them to this only allows for 6 games against those 7. So in short Texas won’t play one of Bama, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Tenn, South Carolina or Missouri for first time in league play until 2028.

I am not sure the exact same would be true for OU as my mind hurts to think about it, but it would depend who their 3 rivalry matchups are against and how that compares to which of those they have played already.

Not hugely significant but a detail nonetheless.

They HAVE to get rid of this "1 big group" mess & do equal scheduling with pods &/or divisions.

I don’t think South Carolina fans would be upset by having Mizzou as one of their three games.

What are you talking about? A non-Big Six team has never won the SEC. It’s always been unbalanced and blue bloods have always crushed everyone else.

Such bullshite. Even with 8 games, the SEC comprised the entire Top 14 strength of schedules according to ESPN SP+ and FPI aside from Wisconsin at 5th which is only non-SEC team to rank inside the Top 14. The SEC basically makes up the entire Top 14 SOS's. 13 of 16 teams rank in the Top 14. There's no need for this as an 8 game SEC schedule is significantly more difficult than any Big 10, ACC, or Big 12 9 game schedule.

I think it will be.

No one they get rid of it.

I believe we get Aggie, Ole Miss, and Bama.

LSU has had multiple chances to fight for Arkansas to be the last game of the season and they've chosen to play A&M and Oklahoma in that spot over the last 10 years. This makes me think they're not very invested in keeping them on the schedule every year.

Ole Miss/A&M seem like locks. Last spot probably is between Florida/Bama (maybe Oklahoma?)

A&M didn’t play Georgia until 2019, after starting league play in 2012.

I think a lot of us would. Yeah the game is wild, but its not a game that SC look forward to.

But more so it's just going to piss us off when we get none of the following 3 (UT, UF, UGA).

It will be interesting to see if the SEC is willing to tell some of the big 6 that they can't keep all of their traditional rivalries in order to be fair, or if they just say frick all the SC, Vandy, UK, Mizzou type teams.

This is going to kill schools like Missouri and Ole Miss, who love to schedule 4 cupcake non conference games.

Now… they will only get to schedule 2 cupcakes since they will have 9 conference games and will have to play a non conference game against a team from the Big, ACC, or Big 12.

Some were saying if he does come back it would be the LSU job. If what you are saying is true, thank you for saying it.
