Leads college football into a new era just like they did in the early 1990s.

You wonder if the Big 12 dissolves or raids the American? Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, TCU, and Baylor officials would crawl to the Pac-12 offices for an invitation

No pod system. Just forget east/west north/south whatever. Build the two divisions based on historical success to hopefully create some balance

Posted this in the other thread, but to me the only way this makes any sense is if it's a first step in realignment to super-conferences.
I think to realistically move to an eight-team playoff, we'd almost need to go this super-conference route, with four conferences of 16 teams (top 64). You'd have to somehow otherwise equalize the schedules, IMO, and have divisional champions maybe with wildcards, like the NFL.
(Those outside of the 64 could have their own deal, or still play somewhere in the bowl system.)

These are mostly the schools the Pac 12 didnt want in 2011. Don't see that as having changed.

Create the thunder dome pod and just run OU and Texas through it for the 1st 3 years.
Their SEC pledge ship
Line them up and make them play:
-LSU
-Alabama
-Auburn
-Georgia
-Florida
-A&M
In a 6 week gauntlet with no byes, all on the road. We could make a Rant tailgate bus that follows the action.

Right. And to my knowledge none fit academically in the B1G either. The best of the American and Big 12 might just have to merge and salvage what they can

Hate the idea overall.
But if a domino falls and super conferences are being formed and B12 is falling apart i would rather jump early at Texas and OU than get stuck with Texas tech and Baylor

We can lead into a new era with 2 different teams.

I think if this did happen that is the most likely scenario. The remaining BXII schools aren't academically in the sphere that the Pac 12 generally wants, either.
A league that looks something like........
Baylor
Texas Tech
TCU
Houston
SMU
Oklahoma State
Kansas
Kansas State
Iowa State
UCF
USF
Cincinnati
Memphis
Tulsa
Would be a pretty good basketball league still.

They also can't use their cell phones on any campus for a full year. Or look any of us in the eyes.

Or it creates two 8team divisions that will likely have two cross div games per year.

I would like to see the SEC expand to 20 teams and East plays East and West plays West. At the end the two winners meet in the SEC title game which would become the National Championship Game every year. The winner of the SEC every year would be so tested that they should dominate the CFP.

They dissolve, P12 and B10 pick up teams, ACC still remains weakass

Certainly possible, but I'd imagine that this plus the scuttlebutt about schedule changes would probably all be part of the same big move. Who knows though.
If they did divisions I'd guess
