Some Florida fans, and a lot of other fans, are ridiculing this man over hiring another G5 coach. Now he's out explaining himself.

Florida ended up with a ball coach. Sumrall may fail but it won't be because he's deemed as lazy like Sun-Belt Billy. This dude is all about ball. He will give Florida every ounce of his soul.
Stricklin just needs to stfu in the offseason and let this cat work.

Bro this reeks of melt.
While its a bit funny how it happened, after review after my kneejerk reaction, both myself and TheCAW are solidly on the Sumrall boat. He's going to be a much better coach than Napier and has already made moves that Billy would never consider.

I think Sumrall will do well.

Don’t know how he will pan out but the Faulkner hire was darn sure a step in the right direction for him and the Gators.

Sumrall is gonna be good.
Great hire.
Great hire.

He is a solid hire. And, was more affordable.
Stricklin is only taking grief because he couldn't raise enough or be convincing enough to land Lane.
Time will tell, obviously, but he may prove the better hire.

Agreed.
I would take Sumrall over Billy ball any day.
If given the tools and allowed to run the program how he sees fit, I think Florida will do well.

Sumrall is our psycho killer coach and I’m extremely happy so far.
Is he a guarantee? No. See Brian Kelly.
There are no guarantees.

That’s not exactly what happened.

I can't stand Stricklin and think he should have been gone over a number of the coaching scandals. IMO he should probably just lurk in the background, but think him coming out of the shadows is a reflection of him sensing a mood change around the hire. People are generally pretty excited about Sumrall now.

I am on the Sumrall bandwagon as well, missing out on Lane Quittin was a blessing in disguise

Not sure how well it will work out but after Billy.....the sky has to be up..at least we won't see the same 5 offensive plays 25x a night and field 11 players on the field...hoping he has 3 Oline coaches...2 is not enough obviously.

If Sumrall fails at Florida, it's not because he's not a good coach.

I know this is a hot take, but Scott needs to do more interviews. When he is hiding out and refusing to talk, it makes him look incompetent and conniving. He is actually pretty intelligent and well spoken. Giving the thought process around why he is doing the things he is doing could help his reputation a ton.
