Eerily reminiscent of Roy Williams at Kansas after the NCAA Title in 2003.
Roy Williams didn't leave Kansas for Kansas State

Disagree - they’re fun to poke fun at and all, but dick move by Schloss. Hope they get a good replacement

This is honestly worse case scenario transfer portal wise, everyone else eliminated has had a few week head start recruiting plus now have access to your entire roster while you have to find a coach and no way to hold on to your own.
Oof

This was a different situation because Williams was a Dean Smith disciple.

quote:Why? He's simply rejoining the AD who hired him at TCU (Chris DelConte) and getting a nice raise as well. Trev Alberts who just came in as aggy AD has nothing invested in coaches he didn't hire, and it's not like this is a step down in any way, shape or form.
Quite an a-hole move.

This is one of the greatest troll jobs in sports history. Definitely college sports history.

Loyalty to a program doesn’t exist anymore.
Those kids played hard for him to jump the fence and run away.

Yep. Also an NC native and UNC grad. He didn’t leave the first time either, we had to wait a few years. Kansas turned around and got Bill Self which helped. Who is aTm gonna hire?

Hearing some A&M players could be following
This plus whole staff. Very strange! But I’m here for it

Texas, thank you for doing this. I don't like y'all, but I absolutely hate Aggie.

What kind of raise and pay is he looking at? Baseball coaches aren’t as well paid as basketball and football so I’m just curious
Probably north of $2 million. Texas just reset the market and A&M and Tennessee will likely follow.
The top 6 highest paid coaches in the country this season:
1. Corbin - $1.942 million
2. O'Sullivan - $1.755 million
3. Jay Johnson - $1.65 million
4. Bianco - $1.625 million
5. Vitello - $1.5 million
6. Schlossnagle - $1.46 million

“We don’t have a revenue problem in college sports, we have a spending problem.” - A&M AD Trev Alberts. Probably not the smartest thing to say if you want to keep high performers in your organization, be they players or coaches.

If I’m Aggie, my first call is to the UK coach.
