My kid's in laws are big UTx alums. They are great people. But my son has been to family gatherings where his in law's family groups up in the back of the room and talks about how the general population of SEC schools and fans are rednecks and dumb. My son just kept his mouth shut and let it ride.

Hippie Hollow and Barton Springs bathhouse along with 4th street are a nice place to meet current and former alumni. Really show a lot of "brotherly love".
