I am not very old, and I can still remember Texas A&m stealing Alabama’s coach from them. Alabama is not getting a coach to leave The University of Texas if UT wants to keep him.

It was one game in week 2 of the season. We still don't know what either one of these teams will be by season's ends. Relax

There's nothing Alabama can offer that he won't already have in Texas. Biggest budget, richest boosters, flagship university in the nation's most fertile recruiting area, in a major metropolitan area that's an economic hub.

I'll only argue one point. The most fertile recruiting area in the country is not exactly Austin. It's the area LSU can recruit. Louisiana plus southern Mississippi.

If Lane Kiffin could ever recruit Mississippi to Oxford, he'd have something. But that's a classic square peg and round hole.

Saban should just quit/ retire. I'm sure Texas could find an office and a spot for him, ala Gary Patterson. He could probably have a sweet gig coaching up the DBs and helping game plan for defense and living the high life in Austin in a nice mansion on a beautiful lake.

Seriously, if BAMA let Saban go without a solid plan for the next head coach, they are going to regret it big time. I mean a well thought out and thoroughly vetted and researched plan. Texas let Mack go and paid a heavy price for not supporting a great head coach that was just slipping a little, and trying to hire a bunch of flash in the pan coaches that sucked.

Best thing to do with Saban, when he's ready to retire, is let him vet the entire next coaching staff that BAMA is looking at hiring..Don't piss him off to the point that he wants to leave the team high and dry...The next coach may not be as successful as him, but I bet they won't completely suck if he has some input in the process.

Damn that escalated fast

Saban hasn’t had a season with fewer than 11 wins since 2010

NIL era is a whole new ball game, nobody is leaving Austin & the UT resources to follow up the GOAT and those expectations. I'd be surprised if Kirby bit as well, leaving a top 5 spot to coach in the shadow of Saban is a tall order.

Good thing that isn’t remotely the case, then.

Sark is way too smart to want to be the guy that follows Saban.
