"With 6 weeks to go before kickoff now is the time to seek full vaccination." "Vaccines are an important product of science, not a political football."

The young athletes are refusing it because of politics? That's what he seems to be implying.

Once a team hits 85% vaccinated, they no longer need to conduct surveillance testing. So unless someone was symptomatic, it's unlikely they would get tested during the season (unless the SEC is going to require testing of everyone before games, regardless of the 85% threshold).

The NCAA does not govern testing in football, each individual conference does

If your team is 85% vaccinated, not a single player has to test anymore. Bama has reached this

So Bama is all in on what it takes to have a pretty large competitive advantage

When did Bama reach this? In June Saban said:

quote:

“I think we’re pretty close to being there,” said head coach Nick Saban prior to the 15h annual Nick’s Kids golf tournament at Old Overton Club. “We’ve had a pretty significant number of people that have been vaccinated, and we’re almost to the threshold where we won’t have to test. We’re giving every player the option of whether he wants to do it or not, and we’ve had a pretty good response. We’ve had some really good educational meetings for the players so they can make a good, intelligent decision about what they want to do or not do.

I bet one of the vaccinated teams is Bama so they don’t have to go through protocols. They didn’t report any positive cases last year other than Nick, so they certainly won’t have issues this year.

Maybe if the FDA actually approved the vaccines. They haven't.

Currently 11 people in our local hospital with Covid. 4 were fully vaccinated.

At this rate, it wouldn't surprise me to see the whole country in another full-blown COVID panic by the start of the season. People are sheep

Yea we did. Not a ton, but we had some. Evan Neal for Arkansas was the biggest, but we had 10-12 2nd and 3rd teamers out for the Kentucky game.

We also had almost half our staff out for the LSU game.

They also haven't approved Winston cigarettes. Or Muscle Milk.

I agree, they want to drag it out until the midterms. If you actually look at the numbers, they do not scare you. They throw out percentages and it scares everyone.
