I know everyone likes to give Aggies a hard time, but A&M is far from a sh*thole. One of the best home fields in college football. Some of the best academic facilities I’ve been too.

No one wants GT. A school that has a very small, stingy fan base. The only thing bigger than their weird sense of superiority is their massive debt. They can’t come close to filling their small and soon to be even smaller rusty old hulk of a stadium.
I’d take FSU, Clemson or NC over them any day

Where was the SEC Network for all those decades of SEC greatness before the Aggies joined?

Answer - It wasn't even a glint in ESPN's eye yet.

If I had the power to kick one program out of the SEC, it would be A&M. Hands down. I haven’t forgotten how they arrived at the SEC and on this board. So full of themselves, bragging about how rich they were and how they were going to rule the SEC. Didn’t quite turn out like that did it? And now they have their big brother moving in too. Don’t know who has a bigger sense of unfounded grandour. Texas or A&M.
At least Texas has accomplished a little. Not much but a little.
A&M? We are still waiting. It figures to be a very long wait. And in the meantime the rest of us have to endure their vulgar “traditions”. What an embarrassment they are

1 ACC schools signed over their rights for something like 25 years none of them can move anywhere…..

2 There is no reason for further expansion

3 the CFP exists so there REALLY IS NO NEED FOR EXPANSION

4 a yearly SEC vs Big 10 scheduling is better than expansion in 1 REVENUE, 2i INTEREST, 3 GOOD FOOTBALL

Aggys got in because they didn't have Texas at the time. If we already had Texas they would have never been invited. At the time it got us into Texas TV market with the second largest fan base in the state

If I were Sankey, I would look to 20 teams because the BIG10 isn't done at 18, and they really want to be in the south. You CANT let them get a powerful brand in the south.

North Carolina
Florida St

Duke or Clemson
Virginia or Kansas

I would surrender Miami to the BIG10 if they wanted them, because that school has been mostly a non factor for 25 years. And rumors say they want Georgia Tech, lol go for it.

You don't want to be so difficult in football you risk adding more losses. Florida St belongs in the SEC, great brand. Truly an SEC school. Probably even more so than Arkansas / A&M have been.

I'd go Duke over Clemson, and Kansas over Virginia. What is Clemson after Dabo? You already have all the football giants. But Duke and Kansas UNC and Kentucky, would make you the Elite basketball conference. Virginia as a state is important, but it's Virginia Tech that moves the ratings needle not UVA, in my mind, becoming a basketball juggernaut is better than having UVA in your league viewership wise.

Things I know:

SEC is loaded with land grant universities.

UNC is only attractive due to Basketball.

Va Tech is much better academically than many here realize.

UVA and UNC are so woke they don’t use words like Freshman.

A lot of people are saying that Va Tech and NC State should/will join the SEC. Sankey would never bid those schools because he is an elitist. In order to catch Sankey’s eye, you have be from a new/non-SEC state, AAU, or have a massive national following. The only thing that NC State and Va Tech have going for them are that they are in new states. Sankey views these schools as redneck shitholes. He would much prefer to have UNC, UVA, Duke, and Notre Dame. Because they are prestigious universities and Notre Dame has a huge national following.

as he fricking should, what in the frick do Vtech and NC State bring? they literally dont bring enough to even have the contract go up enough to cover their share. This isnt the same Vtech as they were under Beamer. They would be ok addition but in general

and Sankey isnt being an elitist, but he isnt going to bring in schools that do not fit culture wise, dont provide big time matchups, bring in more eye balls and actually makes the contract per school go up.

historically Va Tech is a better program but Virginia brings in more eyeballs and has a higher Nielson Impact score.

Nc State...wtf would we want them for?

its UNC/Clemson and then Virginia and a 4th school ...prolly FSU but dont be surprised if its Miami, they have a much high Impact score. but its going to be who can actually bring in the money if they even do expand.

Bravo. Dead on. Anyone putting trust in the opinion of woke liberal journalists to rate universities is completely lost.

I don’t disagree. But Sankey doesn’t care what you or I think. I’m just telling you that schools like Va Tech, NC State, FSU, and Clemson aren’t even on his radar. All of those schools plus Miami will have to go to the Big 12 after expansion is over.
