True, but LSU doesn't lose to Vanderbilt, I don't care who's coaching us!
Wrong answer. LSU vs Vanderbilt: 25-1 tie- 7
That aside, LSU also lost to UAB in Saban’s 1st season
Eta: and were dominated by DeBoer in his 1st season at Alabama

Many Bammers may not like it but Ms. Terri has literally said that Saban would have had the same success at LSU had they stayed.

Lsu did not cheat nearly as well as Bama maybe

The real answer is saban arrived at lsu a nobody. He arrived at bama with this hype from his achievements at lsu maybe even to much hype honestly for how great maybe he was and it gave him a huge head start with legitimacey recruiting...OR maybe he didnt have to play AGAINST bama anymore or maybe man is just LOS GOAT

I’ll always be grateful for the LSU program. It was a great stepping stone job for Coach Saban on the way to his ultimate destination job at Alabama. He learned how to turn around a dumpster fire program with an irrational / illiterate fanbase and won a national championship there. I guess he figured if he could do it there, then he could probably build the best college football dynasty that the world has ever seen at Alabama, and he was right

That definitely helped him at Bama.

Umm.. he inherited 25 NFL draft picks !! The fudge you talking about Quarterbacks: Matt Mauck, Marcus Randall, JaMarcus Russell. Running Backs: Joseph Addai, Shyrone Carey. Wide Receivers: Skyler Green, Michael Clayton, Devery Henderson. Offensive Line: Nate Livings, Stephen Peterman, Rodney Reed, Andrew Whitworth, Ben Wilkerson. Defensive Line: Chad Lavalais, Marcus Spears, Kyle Williams. Linebackers: Eric Alexander, Lionel Turner, Cameron Vaughn, Randall Gay. Defensive Backs: Travis Daniels, Jack Hunt, Laron Landry, Corey Webster, Ronnie Prude. Special Teams: Donnie Jones (Punter), Chris Jackson (Kicker).
The frick are you talking about? You really are an absolute idiot aren’t you? He didn’t inherit any of these guys except for ONE. He recruited all of them except Rodney reed. He was hired in November of 1999. All of these except for reed were the 2000 class or after.

I don’t think it’s opinion to say that Bama’s “player support system” was far superior to what LSU was willing to do.
That’s was the difference in his successes at Bama vs. LSU.
He was/is a great coach and would’ve had great successes at LSU had he stayed but Bama allowed him to reach the full potential because of how they committed to a winning program

Just no. The problem is that the NFL called. He wasn’t at LSU long enough. 2005 and on was suppose to be his juggernaut. Thats what he wasn’t building to. And he had all the support and everything he needed. He just didn’t stay long enough. Any big school Saban went to after the Dolphins would have had that success. It was and is Saban. He is the greatest coach to coach college football.

We have the same amount of losses to Vandy in the last 40 years.

Nope, Bama was just lucky with this timing. Had the roles been reversed, he still would have left Bama for the Dolphins, because he thought he wanted to be an NFL coach. Saban has said this himself.
Even after all those wins and championships at Alabama, Saban publicly stated that leaving LSU was the worse career decision of his life. LSU was special to Saban and he recently reiterated that at the LA Hall Fame induction. He also stated publicly that despite all his national championships, his first at LSU was as his most special.
In the end, LSU and Alabama shared greatness and I'm glad as an LSU to be able sto say that now looking back on everything.

Bama has loss to Vanderbilt 19x per you all-time record. Your last loss was last year. Bama has a one game losing streak to Vanderbilt as things stand.

Shouldn’t you be piling up some bricks for when Deboer can’t backdoor into the playoffs
Posted on 7/13/25 at 11:53 am to nicholastiger
nicholastiger you better go back and look what was at LSU when Saban go t there.
LSU was loaded, we just had a defense of Swiss cheese, the one that was going to take five years to get going.
