This is literally the only update that Alabama has released since Wednesday. It came from Jeff Allen, the Director of Sports Medicine:

quote:

“Coach Saban was evaluated by our team physician Dr. Jimmy Robinson today. Coach remains asymptomatic at this point and is doing fine. He is continuing to self-isolate and will remain in the SEC testing protocol while being evaluated daily.”

Nowhere does it say the initial test was confirmed. In fact, it even states that he is remaining "in the SEC testing protocol."

This is the key. If it was a confirmed positive, then there isn’t any loophole. I haven’t seen anything from the University to confirm that, though.

On Thursday, Alabama confirmed Saban's test was not a false positive for COVID-19 with an update on his condition: "Coach Saban was evaluated by our team physician Dr. Jimmy Robinson today. Coach remains asymptomatic at this point and is doing fine. He is continuing to self-isolate and will remain in the SEC testing protocol while being evaluated daily."

He doesn’t like the rules about Covid, because his dumb arse caught it. Too bad.

So, where in that statement is the part about him testing positive a second time? Looks like CBS made an assumption for some reason based on God knows what. Maybe them saying he was asymptomatic?

Again...

This:

quote:

"Coach Saban was evaluated by our team physician Dr. Jimmy Robinson today. Coach remains asymptomatic at this point and is doing fine. He is continuing to self-isolate and will remain in the SEC testing protocol while being evaluated daily."

Does not equal this:

quote:

On Thursday, Alabama confirmed Saban's test was not a false positive for COVID-19

Where is that confirmation? I haven’t seen it anywhere. That was an assumption based on the statement released by UA.

Are you serious? it says exactly that.

On Thursday, Alabama confirmed Saban's test was not a false positive for COVID-19

I don't know. Maybe the part that says the school confirmed it?

Okay. Look. I hope he is fine. I don't care if he coaches tomorrow or not. I guess we will all know for sure tomorrow at 8PM EST.

The main thing is he does not get hit severely by it and comes through now worse for wear.

This assumption by the writer...

quote:

On Thursday, Alabama confirmed Saban's test was not a false positive

Is not confirmed by this statememt by Alabama.

quote:

"Coach Saban was evaluated by our team physician Dr. Jimmy Robinson today. Coach remains asymptomatic at this point and is doing fine. He is continuing to self-isolate and will remain in the SEC testing protocol while being evaluated daily."

Hey bud, try actually reading the statement you posted:

quote:

On Thursday, Alabama confirmed Saban's test was not a false positive for COVID-19 with an update on his condition: "Coach Saban was evaluated by our team physician Dr. Jimmy Robinson today. Coach remains asymptomatic at this point and is doing fine. He is continuing to self-isolate and will remain in the SEC testing protocol while being evaluated daily."

They are concluding based on the release from UA that he tested positive. However, nowhere in that release does it say that. It doesn't say they confirmed the test and gave an update. It says they confirmed the test WITH an update. Then they post the update.

I’m not sure why I’m having a difficult time getting you to understand what I mean.

That is a quote from CBS about a quote from Alabama. The actual quote they used to substantiate that claim doesn’t mention anything of the sort. There has been no statement from Saban, UA, or our medical staff confirming it wasn’t a false positive. The only quote even related to that is coming from whoever wrote that CBS article. And my guess is they made an incorrect assumption based on the response from UA.

I am guessing you missed the part that said the Univeristy confirmed the test was not a false positive and then added an update.

Now, if you read carefully, they said that Alabama confirmed the test results....THEN they added the update to his condition.

Now, explain to me what "The University CONFIRMED the test result" means to you, please.

Where did they confirm it? Wouldn’t that have been widely disseminated?

That statement means they made an assumption based on a quote that was given to the public.

Look at it again. The article said that Alabama confirmed the test result. THEN it added that the University updated his condition.

The two are totally separate thoughts and statements.

Statement one: Alabama confirmed the test results.

Statement two: Here is an update on his condition.

Come on. Like I said. I hope he is fine. We will all know tomorrow night, though. Personally I hope he is recovered and good to go tomorrow. If we win, I want to beat a good, full team.

Further, explain to me why the news source with the best contacts to UA can't even confirm what the second test result was. You think Barrett Sallee knows something that Cecil Hurt doesn't about the Alabama football program?

Okay. I give up. Saban will be on the sideline tomorrow night.

Dude, you seriously struggle with comprehension. What they posted was essentially:

"UA confirmed the positive test by releasing this update: ..."

Yet the update doesn't say anything about subsequent testing.

Why in the hell would Alabama be secret about his negative test results? That would be dumb as frick

If he shows up on Saturday now, they are in a world of shite. If they immediately announce his negative test, it isnt nearly as big of a deal
