Pretty sure there was an article I read that confirmed his test was not a false-positive. Can't remember where at this point, but it was one the pretty normal news sources like ESPN, AL.com, or somewhere like that. It wasn't a random tweet from "inside sources" or anything like that.

Edit. Found one

On Thursday, Alabama confirmed Saban's test was not a false positive for COVID-19 with an update on his condition: "Coach Saban was evaluated by our team physician Dr. Jimmy Robinson today. Coach remains asymptomatic at this point and is doing fine. He is continuing to self-isolate and will remain in the SEC testing protocol while being evaluated daily."

I don't care what Desmond is opining, if Saban has a positive COVID test, he won't be allowed to coach under the SEC COVID protocols. And if he does, it is going to cause a shitstorm of other programs raising hell about players being forced sit out due to contact tracing and no positive test.

That’s not how the rules work.

Actually, yall dont know the rules

There is no 4 days consecutive negative tests rule that you are trying to make. The only additional testing is to immediately confirm the PCR test. Considering Saban is still isolated, he clearly had a confirmed test

If the PCR test is confirmed, its a 10 day quarantine regardless of subsequent testing.

If it wasnt confirmed he would be out of isolation already. They immediately work to confirm the test. Not 4 days

Same here, thought it was confirmed yesterday.

The SEC's health and safety protocols, released over the summer and modified most recently on Monday, state asymptomatic individuals may receive a second test within 24 hours of their original positive. Should that second test be negative, the individual should receive two additional tests at least 24 hours apart; if all three are negative, and the individual remains asymptomatic, they are released from isolation and immediately cleared to return to athletics activity.

Based upon a Desmond Howard guess?

Saban already had his physician confirm his tests. His window for negative testing is up

"frick these fricking rules"

In fairness this is an article written by a member of the media based up a tweet by Desmond Howard. Saban was not asked or interviewed by anybody. Nobody knows where he stands on this right now.

When? I haven't seen any quote from a physician confirming that. In fact, those who actually cover Alabama daily have said that the results of subsequent testing are unknown.

Isolation can’t end until the 3rd test showing negative, per SEC rules.

This is the key. If it was a confirmed positive, then there isn’t any loophole. I haven’t seen anything from the University to confirm that, though.

In what world would it make sense for Saban, if he actually has COVID, to come back and potentially infect a significant number of players and assistant coaches? Some of y'all are really reaching with this shite.

not when other people, (the players) are concerned. Hey, I get both sides of it. Can you imagine if he coached and a player contracted Covid from him and had to be hospitalized or died?

YES. I know the odds are against that happening, but one football player (That I know of) has died from it. Talk about a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I suspect nick Saban does not want anybody to be impacted by it, and I am sure Alabama does not, either.

It was confirmed by your school and your team physician.

I don’t think they’re necessarily lying, but it looks more like an assumption based on the quote about being asymptomatic. There wasn’t an additional quote provided that stated it wasn’t a false positive.

The quote they use to substantiate that statement doesn’t say that at all.
