You have just invalidated all of college football, all coaches, all championships, all previous methods of coaching and teaching football fundamentals to generations of football players with your hysterical claptrap nonsense.

Yes ... I reckon I did. Because during my hitch in the Army ? Plenty of ball players.

Uniformly useless ... but great PT scores. Tired whelps about four hours into a full day. Human dragsters.

Never - not once - been on a jobsite and wished we had a pulling guard. An outside linebacker.

Farmboys that could weld were useful.

And here we go. Please tell me why St. Nick - best football coach I ever saw, BTW - has anything we should listen to regarding anything NOT the closed system of college sports

Discipline, leadership, motivation, organization, making the most of opportunities; these all transcend the closed system of college sports, and he was excellent at all of them. He is active in multimillion dollar business dealings that have absolutely zero to do with football. You might say his name recognition from sports make that possible, but there are more famous sports figures that never achieved anywhere close to his success of the field than there are ones who exceeded it.

Easier to do when Player XYZ has no other options. And look - that crap worked in the military. I know. Because I - like everyone else - signed a contract. We had no other options.

Nick Saban's bullshite will not work now because the kids have options. It didn't work in his day on coaches. Nobody stayed with his nutty arse for long.

Saban isn't against NIL. He is against the unsustainable, lawless, no parameters system that is currently in place. You know, like 99% of this board.

Pleas tell me ... if Idiot A wants to pay Idiot B to play ball at School X - why we need a law stopping that transfer of cash.

Saban testified before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.

This. Nothing Saban said during the hearing was wrong.

You guys still have an overall losing record to Arkansas after winning 6 of the last 10 and still down 5 games

Okay, you should have just started another thread for this gripe. Name it something like "Army grunts stronger, better, faster, tougher, than any stupid troglodyte football player".

You are way off topic and seem bewildered.

You may be right. Many former Alabama players have stated that they were literally imprisoned in football camps by Nick Saban and have said they reminded him of a 1930ish prison warden.

They say the bastard's favorite phrase when he had them shackled and chained up on the practice field was "What we have here is a failure to communicate".

As you say, the innocent players had no other options. It was either play for Nick Saban or die.

Because it is going to kill off a lot of programs. If a program can’t afford to be competitive a lot of universities will eventually just pull the plug. And ultimately most of these players are playing at public universities. Their mission statements focus on education. Not being professional sports teams. Tax dollars should not go to universities if they are going to become professional sports franchises. But if there are not tax dollars going to these universities many will face a dilemma: raise tuitions and fees so they resemble private schools. Or shut down sports programs that are losing money.

Funny how now that NIL leveled the playing field he could no longer cheat.

That's doesn't make sense. If the playing field is level, why would one need to cheat?

As soon as the transfer rules opened up ? They started transferring.

Again - I'll say it - NIck was the best. Until we got to pay above the table and college kids became free agents. You know - like everybody else in real life.

And then Nick's message just didn't work. No more than if your Boss started preaching all this "don't think about yourself - commit to the team" crap. Doesn't work in the real world. Not when people have self-agency. Not when people are free to find their own best deal.

And there it is. At least one person is honest.

Oh No ... what will you ever do if boys ain't popping pads in the fall on the tube ? Where will you place your bets ? What event will you plan the entire day around ?

I just don't care. Really don't.

So what has happened to Kentucky basketball? They aren’t very good since NIL. Were they cheating and paying players before then?
