The problem is none of the coaches, individually, want to follow the rules. All coaches are always searching for a competitive advantage - it's why a lot of them are successful coaches.

Collectively they say they want rules, but individually back on campus none want to follow the rules.

ike it or not college football players are employees

They are not, however, they need to be a they can unionize and do collective bargaining so we can put an end to this wild arse portal shite and have salary caps. IT is time to stop pretending like they are anything but professionals at this point and begin organizing some of this chaos

If I thought there was a chance we could go back I wouldn't support this, but there is no chance we are going back to college athletes being what they once were

The NCAA could've stopped it themselves but they put their own well being ahead of everything else. The arbitrary enforcement of their own rules brought them to this point so let them reap the rewards of their behavior. Die a slow death

I think all fans, even OM, should agree this was a pretty fricked up thing to do

We have nothing to control tampering. You know, Clemson had a player that was on campus for a whole week, and they (Ole Miss) come and got him off the campus and took him someplace else

Pretty egregious, if it really happened.

Guess we'll see if the NCAA has any teeth left.

Pretty ironic considering Ole Miss fans here were so worried about Lane tampering and then Portal Pete is immediately under investigation.

I love how some, like Saban here, are trying to frame it as Ole Miss doing the only tampering out there, when every school on God's green earth started contacting and throwing offers at our players the moment Kiffin left. Ferrelli had no binding agreement signed with Clemson and was being recruited by Ole Miss in the portal.

Saban never had players meeting with agents or tampering. He is a saint beyond reproach.

So it’s either “poor us” or “everybody else does it”?

Seems like an open and shut case then. Why are they still investigating?

Please link where I have ever said poor us. My argument has always been arbitrary enforcement of the rules. Saban had a player on a boat with an agent receiving money and got a slap on the wrist. Any other program gets shite on including LSU.

I was under the impression he was already enrolled at Clemson and taking classes. That seems pretty binding

One was iirc but vacated games still count. State's vacated wins still happened on the field and they count to me at least.

Are you sure? Because that would put us over the .500 mark all time.

Most schools offer a two week unenrollment period. Gonna guess Clemson offers something like it or it wouldn't have worked out. The only agreement was one similar to what Princely U had with Ole Miss for revenue sharing, which can be nullified and bought out.
