It would be interesting to see how Belicheck would adjust to scheming with 20 year olds. He doesn't suffer fools on that roster, and only specific young kids are able to step in and grasp what they are doing.

I'm sure he'd figure it out though. He's just absolutely incredible.

He processes players like Saban, they just call it "releasing" or "putting players on waivers" vs transferring to another school.

Saban success is his game planning or implementing the game planning
Saban is great at both of those things, or at least, has been. Maybe people are catching up to him, closing the gap that has been so prominent. I can't see him simply falling off, but who knows what that would even be considered, granted he's maintained success. I'm not a huge fan of comparing coaches, maybe in an attempt to broaden your own perspective, but not much more.

How successful would Brees be under Saban ? At that point in Saban's career, he liked to run the ball and play Defense. Would that have handcuffed Brees ?

Belchick... nothing to write home about with browns ..saban little better at non bama.. Brady would be an avg qb with a non contender...Manning turned midling broncos into Champs

That is a foolish statement. Brady can read defenses and is very accurate. He can and has made non-contenders very good over the years.

To win 6 championships, at any level, you are probably impacting your team in a very positive way. Lol

Sure man, the med staff nixed the guy who James Andrew operated on, yet gave the green light on fat arse Cumpepper who was coming off tearing his ACL, MCL and PCL

Good point but disagree...Brees known commodity to Saban from Purdue Mich St ...so as Saban turned Tua loose..he would have turned Brees loose as well

That was the evolved Saban that turned away from the power running game. Not sure the 12 years younger Saban would have done the same. Still think the current Saban wished he had stuck to his old school philosophy, that is why I think he played Hurts as much as he did the last three years.

Saban didn't make it in the NFL because too many coaches copy cat plays that work against who they play.

I agree IP - watch the Bama offense this season, Saban will lean on the power running game more and cut back on the Tua high flying passing game (JMHO), provided he has a stout line for his backs to run behind. At the end of the day, Saban wants balance on offense with a killer defense to compliment them.

What is Saban's record for season openers and Bowl games ? He has played good competition in those games and he rarely loses. In the playoff era, his second game is the one that have become nail biters after blowouts in first rounds.

So what about his 3-1 SECCG record at Alabama when facing 11-1 teams?

You do realize that there is no way you can compare their NFL success. You are talking about a guy that has been in the NFL since around 1985. He has been a HC for 24 years I think. Didn't win his first SB until his 16th year in the NFL and 7th year as a head coach (5 years at Cleveland) How many years was Saban in the NFL?

Those wins were against UF and UGA (2). Teams that they had seen on film all year due to having common opponents. In two of those wins they required last minute decisions. I compare that to preparing for Washington, Clemson and Oklahoma the last three first round playoffs (all blowouts).
