You can not compare the two coaches. They do not belong in the same conversation. One of them coaches Varsity football, the other coaches JV football.

I wouldn't call them flaws, just the difference between the two coaches. Could Belichick duplicate what Saban has done in college ? Will never know, but we do know Saban's history in the NFL.
Really? Have you checked to see how many years it took Belichick to be a successful head coach in the NFL?
"From 1991 until 1995, Belichick was the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. During his tenure in Cleveland, he compiled a 36–44 record, leading the team to the playoffs in 1994, his only winning year with the team."

No excuse. He had 4 years...Saban took a 4-12 team to a 9-7 team in his first year. Belichick took a 3-13 team to 6-10 the next year. Looks like Saban did a better job with the turn around.

With the worst franchise in the NFL at that time. The rumor was Art Modell intentionally tried to tank the Browns so he could move them to Baltimore. Wayne Huizenga would have sold his soul to win a Super Bowl.

"In November 1995, in the middle of the ongoing football season, Browns owner Art Modell had announced he would move his franchise to Baltimore after the season. After first being given assurances that he would coach the new team that would later become the Baltimore Ravens, Belichick was instead fired on February 14, 1996, one week after the shift was officially announced.[31"
Weird why Modell would fire him just when everything was nearly completed if he'd been happy with his performance.

He was happy to blame the performance of the team on Belichick, so he could claim a new start in Baltimore. Modell knew that he need an excuse to justify moving the Browns, so he hoped to tank the team and kill attendance. Remember he moved them in the middle of the night ?

Had a pretty good defensive coordinator on that '94 team

Cleveland was 11-5 and won a playoff game in '94. Modell announced his move in the middle of the '95 season...that's what tanked the attendance....and the season.

Sigh, well you’re right. New England has Belichick, L8U has the big 0 and Barnland has the Gus. And here we are Stuck with Saban. I mean, Nick Saban! Life is unfair, I tell you!

To be fair, Saban plays in a tougher division.
