In 2 of Saban Championships, he wouldn't have even been in the playoffs based on the NFL Standard.

Yeah, the NFL ONLY has teams that win their divisions in the playoffs.

I hear they might include these things called "Wild Cards" in the future, but between you and me... I think it's all bullhockey.

BS. The NFL standard allows teams that do not win their divisions into the play-offs...

Not BS, they use a objective criteria to determine who is allowed in, not just the eye test.

Even wildcard selection is an objective criteria with only 32 teams.

12 teams out of 32 make the playoffs - that's 37.5% of all teams during a regular season.

4 teams out of 65 P5 teams make the playoffs - that's 6.2%. Before that it was 2 out of 65 - 3.1%

Technically, all FBS schools can make it. 3.1 % in the current format, 1.6% in the old format.

It is incredibly easier to get into the playoffs in the NFL than it is in the FBS.

Math doesn't lie.

Saban is 6-2 in national championship games

Belichick is 6-3 in super bowls.

Just saying.

What your math doesn’t tell you is there is parity in the NFL due to salary caps and a draft system. One team can not stockpile talent because they are located in a certain area or spend a certain amount on facilities. Quit while you are behind in this argument.

5 Power Conferences with 10 division champs and a committee can ignore that and pick anyone they want. In the NFL you play teams in your division twice, in college you might not play a team in your own Conference. How can you idiots argue that everything is equal?

You're right... if only there was some governing body that required all the schools to adhere to the same rules when recruiting talent.

Oh, wait.

You see, the flaw in your argument is that Alabama didn't get some special set of rules to recruit with that everyone not named Georgia or Clemson weren't allowed to read. Every school has had the same opportunity to "stockpile" talent. If Auburn, for example, failed to do so - well, that wasn't because of a lack of parity. It was because Auburn hired a crappier coach, or is not as attractive a destination.

You can do the same thing in the NFL, the process is just different. Sign free agents, draft the right guys for your system. It isn't just a matter of "talent" - if you have a "decent" QB and some All-Pro WRs, and the other team has a great QB and mediocre WRs... well, chances are you're not going to get the same production from either team. Or your previous coach was a run-first guy and built an OL for that, and then the new coach is pass-first. Well, you have the same level of "talent" as the other team, but guess what? It's the wrong kind of talent.

You should stop pretending that you know how football works. It hasn't gone well for you.

So. lose one game all year to a division rival and that eliminates you from the NFL playoffs?

It would if they played 4 games each season against CFL teams and 8 against NFL teams.

no , just Bama fans thinking they were defending Saban. Anyone who knows football and is not tainted by fandom knows what I am talking about.

You’d think that based on the media and press conferences but the people that have coached and played with him say he’s nothing like the way he’s portrayed on tv.

The Saban vs Belichick debate is a worthy one.

When the Pats stop going to and winning SB's after Brady Retires you will know the answer.

Brady even helped his team beat the Salary Cap by taking 50% less money back in 2013.

This allowed more room for other players.
