No BAMA fan would argue that.

Yet they’d argue that delivering a murder weapon is perfectly fine.

You do realize guilty people are allowed to walk quite frequently if they cooperate with the police? Not being charged isn’t the same thing as innocent

You’re not serious?

Mr calculated Saban knew exactly what he was doing.

Oof yea that’s a direct shot across the bow

Couldn't be any clearer and Bama fans are in complete denial mode. Saban just drug his nuts across Oats' face and Bama fans come running with a case of wet wipes.

Which didn't change anything about the nature of the media and the firestorm they created. It was over a year before the players were exonerated for something that never happened.

It was the District Attorney who rushed to destroy these kids that was disbarred.

And by the way, a forgotten chapter of the story is what happened to the Blue Devils head coach at the time, Mike Pressler. The reigning National Coach of the Year, Pressler was the only person at Duke to lose his job as a result of the scandal that wasn't.

That's what the media accomplished with zero facts and absolutely no legal evidence.

I doubt Saban even thought about the Miller situation or Oats when he said this. Plus, I would question how aware Saban even is about the backlash Oats received over the “wrong place, wrong time” comment. It’s not like Saban read all of the angry Tweets or opinion columns about it.

It was talked about on every sports talk show I saw......even the ones out of New York that only cover pro sports.

It will be interesting to see how Finebaum twists this one.

Mitchell was arrested and charged with a crime. Brandon Miller wasn’t.

I doubt Saban cares about a single one of them. Regardless, I don’t think Saban really considers the basketball team or Oats when discussing the football program. So I still doubt that he was thinking about Miller or Oats when he made these comments.

Could you say that these are ill-advised comments? Sure, but I don’t think they were an intentional shot at Oats.

I agree.

But still one hell of a cosmic coincidence that he used the phrase he did, however common it may be.

You seemed as though saban didn't know what he is doing......that he is oblivious to what has been going on.

Again, you prove your level of moron. saban is the face of bama and he damn well knows it.

so saban just threw the choice of words out of left field?

No need to be a jerk when I’m engaging in a civil discussion.

Saban isn’t the overseer of the basketball program, so I just don’t think he considers it when discussing football program matters. Not every comment about one matter is related to another matter. So I don’t think Saban is throwing jabs at Oats or anyone else, and I don’t think his comment was meant to be directly related to Oats’ comments on the Miller situation.

This is extrem naivete. Saban has been working the media for years, lobbying for playoff spots or trying to motivate his players. You think he now just developed foot in mouth disease?

So many Bama homers willingly self-deceiving on this thread.

To act like saban is oblivious to what is going on with the bball program, because he is the football HC, is absurd.......at the very least.

............in all his years at bama, with all of the circumstances he has had to deal with, have you ever heard saban use anything remotely close to a phrase like that? I find it very circumstantial that he uses it less than a month after Oats got absolutely crucified for saying that statement word for word.

ETA he even referenced that people are responsible for who they hang around. He covered it from A to Z.
