I almost wonder if deep down Saban feels bad knowing that he is indirectly responsible for all the coaching turnover the past few years in the SEC.

Do you really think, at this point, Saban is scared of any coaching hire in the SEC. These programs are "all hat, no cattle"

I doubt he cares one way or the other.

I bet he does. Not that he's worried, but I have no doubt he would rather coach against an idiot who has no shot against him on the recruiting trail.

I definitely think Saban was trying to talk up Dooley at the end to keep him employed as long as possible.

Considering Gruden's experience as a coach at the FBS level is limited to one year as a WR coach at Pitt, no one knows how he can recruit. He may be worse than Derek Dooley for all we know.

Gruden unquestionably has the name recognition and connections to put together a highly competent staff. Dooley probably got lost on the sidelines.

Saban does this to EVERYONE!!! It's his coach speak. He talks UP everyone in this business. Even the shitty coaches. It's just the way that he is.. Anyone who really thinks Butch Jones is doing a "nice job" is delusional.

Coach Bryant would talk like UT-Chatt'nooga could steamroll Bama.

Maybe Saban was helping Butch out with a good talking point for Butch to use.

He was the king of poor mouthing. Before every game every opponent was better and he'd be accomplishing so much just to keep it close. If they won it was all on the players. They did it all with no help from him. If they lost it was all his fault. The players did all they could be he let them down. That is why so many grown men cried when he died.

After Richt was fired, Saban said it was a disgrace.

He knew Kirby was about to be taken from him.

There's an agenda for every word out of his mouth.

Sometimes it takes time to connect the dots.

When Saban says good things about your coach, it's time to fire him.

Saban would be a great used car salesman.
