Never a more true statement spoken by a Gator about themselves.

Spurrier had to compete with Miami in the early 90s and 2000s, a top 5 FSU team for 14 straight years with Bowden, and a top 10 Tennessee team for the majority of his time at UF.

I can remember a time when it was pretty much Florida, FSU, Miami and the rest of the country. Seemed like a Florida team was winning or playing for the National Championship every year.

Yea Bowden and Miami recruited better than UF when Spurrier was here. He just developed and had a brilliant mind for the game.

He changed the way the passing game interacted with the running game. he was way ahead of his time. I don't think anybody has ever changed the way an entire sport was played like Spurrier did. Everybody else just played catch up to him.

You did? Is that what they teach in "Imastupidgator" Class 101" at UF?

Yes, I do have class. I bathe in it every day. I'm a Dawg and I hike my leg and stoop my butt on your ugly lounge lizards faces E-V-E-R-Y D-A-Y. That's "SmartDawgie" Class 101.

Come on, dude. Seriously? What's the point? If you think people are marvelling at your wit and humore, you are wrong.

Seriously? Others are marveled at my wit and humor (no "e")? Geez, I thought it was my enjoying an early day Bourbon while watching "The Longest Day". Hmmm, great combo. Oh, and not having to go to the set today...makes me feel good, too.

DawgsLife….you seem to be prim and proper. Did you or do you still wear a tie and jacket to the games these days? I did. But, when I saw and spoke with Kim Basinger one day at a game in Athens, I said to myself, "no mo'!" I tore that mess off of me (she thought I was still in school!).

She was beautiful.

I absolutely hated Spurrier. He would whip you and then rub your nose in it.

Getting that out of the way he was the best offensive X’s and O’s coach in the last 40 years with Leach trailing behind him. He completely turned around UF football and dragged the SEC into modern college football kicking and screaming.

For you Bama fans Saban is the best program builder EVER. There is not a coach in the history of college football that even comes close. So don’t hate on me.

Respect to both coaches because they have elevated the SEC to be the dominant conference for the last 30 years. OSU, Michigan, USC, Texas, OU. They all know what the best conference is and get pissed at the SEC for dominating college football. Not sure the SEC would be where it is without those two coaches.

Spurrier may have been good and ahead of his time but on one and I say no one is more ahead of the times than Dan Mullen. He is GOAT

People have forgotten how terrifying Florida was in the 90s. They kicked the shite out of everyone And they did it with a system that nobody else had mastered and thst defenses weren't truly built to stop, especially in the SEC.

Spurrier also had to close every season against a Top 5 team in FSU, though a few of those years they would have had to beat FSU in a title game anyway to win a natty.

I liked Spurrier. Even when he'd take shots at Alabama, I thought he was a funny guy, plus, he backed up his bravado. Kind of like Ali. Very brash and cocky, but backed up his bravado with results. His offense changed the SEC forever.

This! THIS!!!, all you thin-skinned Gatorettes (and proper Dawgies). Saban doesn't practice this. All the past great HC's didn't do this. Not even Urban Liar.

Face it, Spurrier's stunted and immature emotional state wasn't properly diagnosed and treated when he was child (his parents probably beat the hell out of him--for good reason!) and now that he's an adult (age-wise), he still feels--even though he's out of coaching--to prick, kick, jab and rub your nose in it today.

Need proof? Check out his Heisman picture...he was mad and ornery then (looks like he's remembering the licking Georgia just gave him)...looks like he's having trouble getting that corncob out of his butt.

A good coach, yes. But, it stops there.

A-hem! Nebraska sure didn't have any problem with Spurrier's Fun'n'Gun. If I remember correctly, the 'Huskers neutron-bombed Spurrier & The Gatorettes, 62-24, for the title.

The problem wasn't that there weren't defenses that had yet to master Spurrier's offenses; the problem was the SEC defenses had yet to wake up and smell the coffee and get smart like Osborne's teams were.

You call UGA fans who present legit arguments alters and yet you continue to respond to the obvious alter in this thread. Weird.

But I thought he wasn't an alter? Can't have it both ways.

Why not? This guy is obvious. The other one just irritates you so you claim he’s an alter.

Y'all told me he wasn't an alter though.
Why is this triggering you?

Wait, who told you ratdog isn’t an alter?

Triggered? Is that your new go to response when you don’t like what someone says.
