Kirby arguably has 2 national titles in his first 5 years if not for Saban’s Alabama. He definitely has 1.
Well shite...then Les Miles would have three if not for Saban's Alabama.
What's hilarious is Ed O won his in year three and neither Saban nor Smart prevented it.

Ryan Day: plays in the B1G
Kirby: SEC
Kirby: SEC

The big problem with Day is that his most successful year was his first year. His second year was his next most successful. Then came his third year.
He's not on an upward trajectory. OSU won the Big 10 his first two years coaching. They were tied for first for their division but lost the tiebreaker in his third year. They outright didn't win the division his last two years.
Last year was his worst finish in the polls.
Granted, Day hasn't been sliding a lot... but it's a consistent slow decline which has to worry OSU fans a bit.

Why are we only comparing their first five years?
To prove the Big 10 is baby-soft and easier to win in.

Ok, then using your logic Ryan Day actually won a title last year because if not for Michigan then Ohio State would have won it all.

then using your logic
No, my logic is actually logic. Saban’s Alabama beat Georgia in OT in the national title game in 2017. You could argue Georgia could have and should have won the game as they had a double digit lead twice.
Your “logic” is implying if Day were to beat Michigan at home, they then would have won the semifinal game and championship game against two additional teams.
So, no, that’s not my logic at all.

Yeah an argument could be made there.

Ohio State can get whoever they want
If this is the case and they only have 2 national titles in the last 50 years - placing them behind; Georgia, Alabama, LSU, and Florida in this conference in just the last 30 years comparatively then…
May need to hop on that coaching market soon

Ryan Day vs Kirby Smart over the last 5 years.
Day 45-8
Smart 55-3
Day 45-8
Smart 55-3

There is an actual attempt to compare Ryan Day to Kirby Smart ...the only valid comparison is in pay. Otherwise Kirby owns this hands down

It’s really funny how football works.
It’s so hard to win NCs. For example if Jamison Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr. don’t get hurt then it’s
Kirby Smart 0 rings
Ryan Day 1 ring
But they did and Georgia won so changes that narrative.

Alabama was so much better than Michigan
When Smart took over, Alabama was the Goliath to Georgia’s David
When Day took over, Ohio State was the Goliath to Michigan’s David
These are not comparable

All this graph says is that its easy to win at Georgia and Ohio St, but it is hard to beat coaches who are actually good on-field coaches and not just recruiters who rely on talent advantage to win

Ryan day does nothing but choke. In 2019 his team shoulda beat Clemson in playoffs had the Better team but they choked. 22 shoulda beat uga had a better team but again choked in playoffs. Had a better roster thsn Michigan the last three years….choked. Had a better roster than Oregon last week and……you know the rest. I can’t trust Ryan day to win shat. And until he does you shouldn’t either.

Anyone who thinks Day is not a hell of a coach is kidding themselves. His day is coming, maybe this year.
He does need to lay off the stress eating though before he becomes Josh Heupel.

These are not the same. I don't want to see anyone hurt, but the reason MH got hurt was that UGA had a great safety that straight laid the GD wood on a clean hit. There was no luck involved.
If I remember correctly, Williams was hurt on a non-contact play. Although it is very debatable whether Bama wins that game with him.

Because Day has only been Head Coach at Ohio State for 5 years, duh
