What is it with Georgia’s obsession with Tennessee lately. You guys almost won the national title and we went 0-8. Hell, we are not even rivals. Seriously, act like you’ve been there Georgia.

His ceiling is unknown. He made fricking Rutgers relevant for the first time since 1869. Sure, it didn't work out in the NFL but Tennessee fans saying he's a mediocre coach because he didn't win a natty at Rutgers are complete morons.

I don't think he had to win a title at Rutgers, but I think he showed enough to know he isn't the next super coach. He isn't the next Nick Saban or Urban Meyer.

And unfortunately for Tenn that is what they need- the next super coach. They need someone out of this world to reboot that program in the face of all the adversity it goes up against. It is scratch off lottery odds, but that is the best they are going to get.

Frankly they need to never hire a retread ever again. They need to hire up-and-comers with short leases, maybe even grind through them on a three year clip until they find the next Saban or kill the program trying.

So they get to do a new coaching search every 3 years? Awesome. It has gone so well for the past 10 years.

That’s what a fan of an 0-8 team would say, but it only shows that vols have no experience with success.

Sure...but doesn't it give you some Ray Goff flashbacks every now and then?

I don't feel obsessed. But I do like to share opinions based upon real experience (i.e. I will chime in on Willie Martinez, John jancek, Brian mcclendon, Todd grantham, etc..)

On a message board where ideas get exchanged, opinions rooted from prior experience may be considered a good thing to share.

Have the VOLS won a game against Bama since Phat Phil was run off?

Asking for a good friend.

No, Goff was so long ago, Fulmer was an OC at the time, Spurrier was just getting started at UF, while Muschamp and Kirby were underclassmen at UGA.

I think Jim Donnan was a bigger disappointment.

All that still doesn't cover up if he is already butting heads with Fulmer, though.

IF, so far all you got is some no name writer out of Nashville mentioning some "whispers", and vaguely, I might add. Notice how he doesn't mention anything specific regarding where they disagree.

But but but but MUH WHISPERS.

And, btw, a football coach is NEVER going to be in agreement on everything with the Athletic director. Doesn't matter who the coach is or who the AD is, disagreements are going to happen. I'd be more concerned if Pruitt was just a brown nosed yes man.

Can't believe you of all people fell for this clickbait bullshite. Shame on you

Fired in 3 years. Never been more sure of anything. He's too stupid to be the HC at a SEC program
Some of you guys are so superficial. He may be fired in 3 years, but it won't be because he is stupid. If anything, it will be because he is too smart. He knows how a program needs to be run and he has the guts to insist on it. We can almost be assured that JP demanded autonomy over his program and received agreement from UT. He's is fearless and will demand they live up to it. He's better off gone, than buckling. UT will be a fool if they do not let him run the program. It's never perfect but I assume they will.

Just because a person is not polished doesn't mean they may not be very smart and Pruitt is. He is as focused Saban and cares nothing about appearances or superficialities. I would hate for you to be responsible for hiring at my firm or one I cared about.
