As a fan, I'm for it. 'Twas a terrible football weekend at a critical time of the year.

It also doesn’t add much to get a win over a crappy team that late in the year.

Now we have confirmed that the cupcakes have to be front loaded.

Never forget Georgia Southern beating Florida without a single passing yard while two Florida players blocked each other...

Or New Mexico State beating Auburn 31-10.

Does it add much to get a win over a crappy team at the beginning of the year?

The faux outrage and pearl clutching over this was silly. Who cares if you play a cupcake in late November?

Well as a fan it kind of sucks. Basically a spring game in November.

Playing a team with a pulse is one thing but inviting Eastern Idaho for a 65-3 beat down is a waste of everyone's time.

On the other hand - we keep making it harder for SEC teams to get into the CFB playoff

How in the world does playing a cupcake earlier impact the CFB? The end of season conference games are still played and they always have a winner and loser.

No. But it’s expected then.
