Stop lying . I specifically said when it WAS a rivalry. Which is what it was when Dale and Joe B were there. This is what I said :

quote:

K-LSU in those days when it was a true rivalry

Your pathetic need to be an attention whore on a memorial thread is profoundly sad for you. Seriously, you need to push away from your computer for a bit, grandma. It’s vile.

rest in peace Joe B - a life well lived.

1975 regional final was his best win - and his most gracious moment - having to deal with the repulsive actions displayed by the ever-bitter IU 'coach' right after the final buzzer.

I’m 56 and usually if UK basketball comes to mind, Joe B Hall is the mental picture I immediately see. Strange how memories can be permanently burned into the brain, but, that’s my first vision of UK basketball.

Wasn’t a fan of UK sports but always felt he represented well.

RIP Coach Hall.

Like Cajun Bama, trash...AND ignorant of SEC basketball history. LSU-UK was THE matchup in the late 70's to the mid 80's.

"A rivalry is the state of two people or groups engaging in a lasting competitive relationship."
I posted a comment about Coach Hall early in this thread, but the subject of this exchange is about the ever-continuing fake approach that many LSU fans have of their relationships with the historical college sports programs in the country. Read carefully:
You are NOT Kentucky's basketball rival...you are NOT Alabama's football rival!
Your baseball team qualifies as elite, but you've got no historical basis to consider yourselves as rivals of either of the other two...GET OVER IT!

5-6 years of competitive games does NOT a rivalry make!

They were talking about when Dale Brown was coaching them. We were rivals during that certain time period. Was temporary, but we were rivals during that time.

We've had temporary rival status with Arky, Florida and other teams as well.

The word temporary and rival don't equate.

Why don't it?

Arky/UK games were the jam in the 90's for me.

The lack of history did nadda to hurt the build up for those games.

Can say the same for Florida with Eddie Munster.

They've obviously fallen off again, but it was fun while it lasted.

Well, we certainly viewed it as such. Why are you parsing words?

Those games were wars. Let us keep this about the passing of Joe Hall and not troll people sharing their memories.

For business reasons we ran in the same circles for a few years. We had a handful of interactions but nothing substantial. We bumped into each other at an event and ended up sitting down and chatting at an empty table for about ten minutes. He knew he knew me but clearly had no idea who I was. But he did his best to try and hide that from me. It was just as obvious that he was being gracious and doing it for my benefit. Very kind man.

Attended the game today and it was an environment he’d be proud of. Place was electric from the start and they had some very touching Joe B Hall videos

He will be missed. A great ambassador for UK basketball and basketball in general.
