You're right. Wealthiest city in Georgia is John Creek in Fulton County. Median income is over $230,000.

Madison county has Canton and that pulls it way down. Like the delta pulls the state of Mississippi down. Rankin County is largely middle/upper middle class with very few poor areas.

Why isn't Milton number 1 for GA. It's nearly 2x the annual household income of Senoia? Is this only towns under 100 people or something?

Palm Beachers travel in the same circle as only three other places in the country: Upper East Side, Hamptons, and Beverly Hills. That’s it.

Canton pulls Madison County down, but not the city of Madison. Madison has the highest number of wealthy residents of anywhere in Mississippi by percentage, I don't know about population. Brandon 39047 is behind Madison and 39042 is way behind Madison.

ETA Brookhaven also has a higher household income
Decatur as well and much higher home values
I just saw this after I responded initially and this makes a lot more sense. John's Creek is definitely a very affluent area.

Median household income can be extremely misleading. If you have a town of 100 families, all multi-millionaires with a huge amount of passive income from real estate, it is very possible that some of them are showing zero taxable income on their tax returns. If you are making big investments in new properties, those first years of tax depreciation gets rid of almost all of your income. The high median income areas are likely towns with dual income families where the earners are upper middle age professionals. As you get an older demographic, the median income is going to drop because so much of your income is passive. You already technically earned that money you are living off of.

Add Buckhead of Atlanta in that bunch, too. Buckhead has a higher household median income than even Beverly Hills.

I don't doubt Tontitown having a high MHI or whatever, but if we are talking highest earning town per capita, it is probably now Cave Springs, which is small, but mostly big houses, and Bentonville Schools.
I'm also pretty confident that Goshen is richer than Tontitown, which would make Not even the richest town in Washington County. Tontitown has townhouses and apartments now. Goshen and Cave Springs do not.

Not if the assets are held in trusts. Then the trust's return would show those dividends and capital gains. And the trust may or may not be located in the same place as the individual beneficiary resides. The benficiary's return, which is what these income numbers are based, would only reflect distributions paid from the trust to the beneficiary in the applicable year. Basically, just their walking around money allowance.
Which is why I said these median income numbers aren't really useful once you start getting into really high level wealth situations. A person's "Income" is often not representative at all of their overall financial picture.
