Honestly... the most interesting thing is how little the differences in production are
Here are the SEC teams with the amount of production returning.
1 - A&M (80%)
2 - Mizzou (78%)
3 - AU (71%)
4 - Ole Miss (71%)
5 - LSU (71%)
6 - Vandy (65%)
7 - Tenn (63%)
8 - UK (63%)
9 - UGA (61%)
10 - MSU (57%)
11 - SC (55%)
12 - Arkansas (54%)
13 - UF (54%)
14 - Bama (40%)
Other than the two at the top and the one at the bottom, everyone is in a 17% window of each other in terms of what's returning.

Seriously?
Those are whole different questions from what I was addressing in the OP. Your question is more of how I feel about our future.
Of course I would take B, in fact we lost 10 to the portal and gained 12 in the portal and our average score went up 11 percentage points in talent with those coming in. Also, you usually will have some idea of what kind of player you are getting through the portal.
I am looking forward to Auburn football under Freeze. Make that thread and I will respond differently than I did here.
I don't see how we can be ranked 28 in returning production. I question the rankings is all.

The good news is 78% of our team is returning. The bad news is 78% of our team is returning.
This just in, Drink just received another extension for returning 78% of his players.

Cain did well, but another 5* bust.
Cain was a 5 star? Woof. At least he has a bad injury excuse.

Uga returns more production for
2023 than we did for 2021 or 2022.

I thought he was, maybe at some point he was, but on 247 it shows him as the #6 RB 4*.
Could have sworn he was a 5, well still disappointing.

On the one hand, having 80% of our production come back is good. OTOH, considering how little production there was, it's nothing special. If the line can get Weigman some protection, Moose, Stewart, and Ainias could put up good numbers.

Will Peat repeat the premature TD celebration? That was fun.
I sure as hell hope not lol.

People can disagree with me, but Boutte was absolutely awful. Dude checked out during the fsu game. I think he expected the video game numbers from 2019 and didn't want to actually do the work.
When a cancer was first mentioned, he was the one that came to mind. He seemed to do a lot of complaining about not getting the ball enough. In fairness, that is pretty common among WR's and in their defense, if they want to make money they need to catch the ball....a lot. But it seemed every time I turned on an LSU game that was being discussed. It's ok to want the ball, but you also need to be a team player.

I'm pretty sure I have a faster 40 time than Cain.

This was supposed to be his money year, and his draft stock probably took a hit. He lost a step after his injury, but Daniels' inability to go through his progressions didn't help either. He missed Boutte and several other WRs running wide open all season long.

We didn’t have a QB that could throw so I can’t give you an idea of our returning WR talent. So the same to worse in production.
I expect that to change of course with Freeze involved.
This will be similar to what Mizzou will be doing this year. New OC with a potential new quarterback which shall help a lot more. The starter was hurt most of the season and just had surgery and will miss the Spring game. This is going to be a wait and see approach on the offense, but I expect it to be much improved and the offense to score more points this season.

80% of "not very much" is still "not very much" right?
