Win one for the band, lol. Does Saban add a few extra TDS for this bullshite.

Seriously Texas, some bands are better than others but I have yet see one win a football game. If you don’t want opposing teams bands celebrating with their team on your field play better and win more games.

You are freaking joining the freaking SEC, you probably need to get used to it and put on your big boy pants on.

You guys must understand that Texas had already sold those lower-level tickets to students before this issue even came up, right?

What are they supposed to do, revoke those tickets and give them to Alabama's band?

When we join the SEC, we'll adjust seating accordingly... if we feel like it.

You move the home students where you wanted the visiting guests to sit

Problem solved.

In the South it is called manners and you do for your guests before you do for yourself.

You may "feel like it" sooner than later. Home office tends to "fix" attitudes like yours with big fines.

I guess I should be thankful that Kansas didn’t bring its band last year or else it would have been worse

I actually like your posts because you're super old and I like your perspective on the history of CFB. But come on man, literally no school would do this. This is the biggest game at home for Texas since LSU, it would be completely asinine to do that to our own students.

Naw, I doubt Saban even knows we have a band. And he nor the team sure as shite don’t need any faux motivation. Business trip like any other game.

Here, you are wrong. I have been spent a lifetime involved with current and former SEC schools from the janitors to the college presidents and board members. I have seen far too many times when things were done because it was the correct thing to do even if it was not the correct financial thing to do. My youth in this world may be biased but this is the only major conference where it really is about family, faith, and friends.

Granted we are in an age of Narcissism that is both wrecking our country and our college sports but we were here before and a Great Depression and 2 Great Wars brought out the best is ALL of us as Americans. I hope we can find this past history and rise again but perhaps we will now fall as Rome did when blind Narcissism ended one of the greatest empires in world history. My time is winding down quickly so your future will be what you make it. If you are really smart you will at least listen to older folks and do not waste your life repeating the same mistakes we already made.

Interesting choice as both are SEC schools so you were aware of the issue the first time with the Tigers and have chosen to repeat it with the Tide now. I know this may sound like the voice of your Grampy or Great Grampy but it is solid advise as a teaching moment in your life.

To be the better human sometimes means to listen to the other person before you speak with your own voice.

Sounds like a perfect teaching moment to me and in the end, they are students.

Tut is right here, its actually little shite like this that burns Sabans arse. He says all the right things, no, no big deal, who cares, ... but he's pays attention.

Those kids in that band were looking forward to this trip. The band doesn't play football but here is Texas and Bama, first time ever outside a bowl game. National tv eyes. It would add to the atmosphere and pagentry of a game between these 2.
It's so U of Texas to screw this up. Again, we'll get it right when they come to Tuscaloosa.

Don't worry shorthorn, BAMA will be "adjusting" that seating for you in the 4th quarter.

Alabama should bring the band anyway. When the stadium empties out at the start of the 4th quarter, they will have their choice of seating.

Texas maximizes its opportunity to fill student sections by giving them the best seats they can, which results in opposing fans sitting where they do in the upper deck.

As a result, Texas sits in the upper deck in the big 12 all of the time:

When Texas joins the SEC, and the band seating and opposing fan seating is mandated, I guarantee you they will comply.

Truth be told, I'm a little shocked by the SEC fanbases this week being so heated over this When Texas comes to Tuscaloosa next year, stick the longhorn band wherever you please. I guarantee no longhorn fans will care at all.

What you are supposed to do is have permanent designated seating for visiting bands at the same level as your band. Then, if you are informed a band won’t be coming, sell the tickets. It’s not difficult. Why do y’all insist on being the pettiest crybabies in CFB? Penalties for horns down…good grief.

You.... do realize that Texas had absolutely nothing to do with that, right?

That's a Big 12 rule (which has never been called since formally introduced in 2019 btw), and Texas fans are embarrassed that it's a rule. Personally, most of us find it enjoyable and a little flattering.

College sports are supposed to be fun. A little trash talking never hurt anyone. Texas says "OU sucks" in their fight song when they play them in any sport.

I can guarantee you not a single longhorn fan gives a frick about what others do with our logo/hand sign. The ones that do are soft, but hey, every fanbase has a contingency of those types of folks as well

…“Bear” he said - "sometime, when the team is up against it -- and the breaks are beating the boys -- tell them to go out there with all they got and win just one for the tuba…”
