so there was more than enough talent to beat wv at 43, but pruitt failed as a coach so they lost

i saw enough to see that Tennessee played hard and physical, which is all you can ask.
grier was on fire in the second half and there wasn't anything the vols could do about it.
discipline is back, though. proot had his guys fighting.

Those recruiting rankings aren't really reflective of the talent on WVUs team. We take in a lot of transfers like Grier, Simmons, Norwood, and the guys from USC and Clemson on the DL. Each one of those 5 guys were 4 and 5 stars, plus we get a lot of JUCO guys like Sills who is the best WR in the country

We have talent at the skills positions. That's not the problem. The problem is that Jones and Dooley both were terrible at recruiting linemen. A lack of talent on OL/DL gets you killed against good teams every time.

It might have declined somewhat by the end, but Butch did leave talent on that team. Poor recruiting wasn't one of the 713 black marks against him as a coach.

Na man. Our whole team is a bunch of soft, slaw-arse garbage, the coaching sucks, etc etc. We should expect a new coach to have his defense shutting down a high-powered offense immediately. Who cares that they are in a scheme which they weren't recruited to play?
