Reading the stadium thread, not sure why some schools don't tear down and start over,

If I was ole miss or Vandy, I would use a new stadium as a recruiting pitch/fundraiser.

Ole Miss would be obvious to me to start over and stop sinking money into it.

Vandy has been smart as they haven't sunk money into it but Nashville has a soccer stadium being built out at the fairgrounds.

Why fool with old infrastructure. Modern concourses, bathrooms, suites, are awesome.

Vandy should just tear it down then cancel the football program.

Apparently LSU’s is sinking. So we have that going for us.

Vandy has such a cluster of an athletic complex. I had to walk through their football stadium to go to a basketball game at Memorial Gym.

Because stadiums are really damn expensive. I live in Allen Texas and it has a really nice high school football stadium that cost like 60 million dollars, It probably only holds about 15000 people.

Don't y'all have like a 5000 ft² indoor practice facility?

And then that stadium got shut down for a year or so.

There's no reason Vanderbilt shouldn't have better athletic facilities with the amount of money the SEC doles out each year. They can be small, but they should be quality.

The expense is the reason they don’t plow it under and rebuild from ground up. Hell Alabama is under a current renovation to an already palatial stadium that will exceed $100MM.

You could build a nice stadium for $150m-200m instead of $50m here and $60m there.

The cost of stadiums has skyrocketed. Minute Maid was built 20 years ago for $250 million. The new Rangers ballpark looks a lot like Minute Maid and will cost over $1 billion.

Inflation and additional improved amenities don’t add up to $750 million.

I like how the football, baseball, and basketball facilities are all there together. And there is pretty good parking.

Then you did it wrong. You don't have to go through the stadium to get to the gym.

Yeah Mizzou just spent $100MM on our South Endzone and for that price the result is something that looks like it belongs in the MAC. Stadium costs are insane.

Agree. It reminds me of 4 trailer homes from 4 different trailer home eras that were fused together on a limited budget.

5th down, Flea Kicker, doink right 2013 vs SCar, the Kentucky debacle in 18, Cale Garrett suffering a season ending injury against Troy and KB's knee getting rolled over by said team last year. Yeah, it's time to start over.

It was the quickest way from where I was staying and there was a crowd of people taking that route.

Exactly and it cost another 50 million to fix the screw up.
