Rattler is the kind of QB who will have a Heisman day, then the next week pass for 38%, throw 8 interceptions, and get sacked 14 times.

Arm talent has always been there. But, with him growing up off the field, this could be a sneaky good pick in a few years.

Nobody really grows up on the field.

Well at least he is used to playing behind an OL that is about like a wet paper towel so he will be in familiar territory.

Saint QB room going into the draft

Derrick Carr
Nathan Peterman
Kellan Mond

I like Rattler's chances!

I really like the kid ... he's what college football should be all about.

I hope he kills it in NOLA.

Couldn't have gone to a more deserving team than the Saints.

How the hell is Mond still on an NFL roster? Are NFL QBs really that lacking...holy crap.

Stupid pick by a stupid franchise. Stuck with Mickey Loomis. Absolute purgatory for those of us who are still fans of this franchise, for some reason.

I feel bad for Rattler. He might have had a chance had he gone to a real franchise with a real front office and a real head coach.

The correct answer is yes. That's why you witnessed 6 qb's in the first round.

In other news, PFF rates the Saints draft as an A+. Damn you, Loomis!!

Agree, as a non Carolina fan, I watch most of their games due to being married to a Carolina girl he is really good IMO. He had a trash oline most of the time at USCe, has very good touch and has plenty of zip. His biggest issue is I don't think he scrambles well or atleast it doesn't seem natural. No doubt in my mind he can be better than a Jimmy G or Mack Jones type of qb, he maybe could start but for sure be a good backup for many years.

I don't understand it either except, perhaps, it's the recent hate by LSU fans over the tarp and also the Dawn Staley thing.

But I remember well when Boo signed with Bum and the Saints after the '81 draft .... I think maybe Archie was in his final years at the time.

When it comes to the Saints .... it's a story as old as NFL time itself. Love-Hate, Hope and Disappointment.

I've been happy for them these past 15 years, the Rogers era and all .... keeping my fingers crossed that Rattler gets a chance to really display his talents. The timing may not be great down there right now.
