Barbecue is a traditional southern food. The main protein of southern cuisine is pork. Beef is the protein of the Western US because cattle need acres to roam and traditional southern farms grew cotton and tobacco not cattle ranches.
The difference between southern barbecue (pork based) and western barbecue (beef based) is the protein. SEC barbecue is pork not beef

Pretty good BBQ in upper Florida..lower Florida it sucks....but def Texas should number 1 without questiom.
